    HUHHHHHHHHHH...........
Damn I have nothing to say.
No wait I just said something.
    Look there I go again.

Truthfully I read a lot of stuff that I couldn't add a word to what ever is said because I have no idea what has been said.
A prime example is some of the stuff that Don Shillady posts.
Hell it hurts my head to read some of his stuff.
He may as well be talking about Nuclear Science in Chinese sometimes because there are times I don't understand a damn thing of what was said.

But then I have been known to reply to a post or two...joe

I guess I post stuff more on threads that relate to my interests, or stuff I want to follow and get updates on. A lot of threads about engine specs, ect. are over my head and I have no knowledge beneficial to someone, so I keep quiet on those, but do read them from time to time.
I try to chime in on new member threads and cool things here and there.

First off I would like to say thanks for all of the info I get from everyone on the site. I visit a couple sites daily and I chime in if I have an answer that will help. Most of the time someone has already supplied the answer as there are some good experienced people on here. I do notice that this time of year is all way's slower on all the sites as people are not bottled up for the winter and are out enjoying their family's and hotrods.

Again, it looks as though the core group has posted Don, good opening thoughts and a good subject. That's the way special interest groups are - regardless of the subject which is unfortunate. Many if not most of the lurkers or occasional folks could contribute positively but don't for whatever reason, real or perceived.

So with that and the above said by others:

"Y'all come and say sompthin, y'hear" we don't bite (well, most of us anyhow)

I thank everyone who has contributed thoughts to this subject so far, and I hope a lot more keep posting on it (especially those we don't hear from too often )

I am as guilty as anyone of not posting sometimes when I should (Ok Bob, I know I have over 10,000 posts, so when have I NOT posted something ) But there are times I will read an excellent thread or update by someone like Steve, or Steve in England, or Ken, or whomever, and I don't have anything meaningful to add or I can't think of anything to say, so I don't post. Sometimes I don't post because I look at the subject list and see that I have already posted on a couple others and don't want to come across as a post hog. But like most of us, I read every thread and enjoy them, regardless of if the subject is cars, boats, pets, someone having a bad day...........whatever.

I'm a "rare poster"... Mostly, I just don't have much to say. I like to come here and see what's going on. There have been a few instances when I posted on some threads and the thread just died....as if I killed it...
Either my post didn't make sense to anyone but me, or I solved the world's problems... (ya, right) We'll see if I kill this one..

I am also guilty as charged. I'm not building anything right now, but check in every day. I won't bore you with excuses, but will try to answer posts more often. This place also feels like home to me, so I wil try to be more verbal.

Hmm! What else is left to be said - already been said - got nothing to add that's pertinent.

Just because I don't talk, it doesn't mean I don't like you all. I can be annoyingly noisy sometimes, so I have learned to keep my yap shut most of the time, and my ears and eyes open, and my radar on high gain; saves on having to put up with black eyes and busted noses and knuckles, even figurative ones.

Some of you have touched on an item that keeps me from posting... discussions that have already happened before. How many of us would go to a "party", if the conversation was exactly the same as last week? Maybe we need to think more about new topics.

I like to be helpful to newcomers with paint & body problems, but at some point... about 20-40 related threads ago... I got tired of giving advise about things I have found dependable. It is like going back to that "party" for the 41st time! ...so I simply "click out", and look for other subjects. Of course this makes a newcomer question why so few responded to his thread, the first time he posted.

I will see if I can bring some new topics to the table. This hobby is always changing, so there are some new discussions on the horizon somewhere. :-)

Jay, since most of us garage types are in the dark when it comes to bodywork and painting, maybe at your convenience you could do a thread about how a pro, like you, go about painting a car. I know it would be a big task, and you have a living to make, but it might save you in the future from having to go over and over the same things. I, for one, would love to read a thread done by someone of your caliber on this subject.

I've been on this forum for a few years now, as well as some other forums, and as most of you know, if I bolt something on my car, I'm doing a thread. Sometimes I get some response, sometimes I don't. It happens on every forum, a few people seem to be vocal and the majority look but don't post.

No one is asking for everyone to jump on and be cheerleaders when someone does a thread, but it sure would be nice to hear from some of you who look but do not post often. It takes a fair amount of work to take pictures then type up what we have done, and most of us do it because we like to share our work with our friends, and maybe pass along something to those who might benefit. I learn so much when another member takes the time to do a thread, and I can't tell you how much I have learned over the years from people who really know their stuff and are willing to share.

This subject has come up on every forum I am on..........how do we get the silent majority more involved? All that I can say is that this forum is for all of us, and it would be very nice and beneficial for some of you who don't post much to every so often welcome a new member or just say you appreciate something another member has posted.

Do any of you other thread starters feel this way too?

    Don
Well, i know when I'm building something I probably post more detail than is interesting. I can understand why if I take some pictures of a primed panel nobody has a comment; it's not a huge step forward and maybe kinda boring. It's just enjoyable to document it all from start to finish and I appreciate when someone does comment. In the same sense, I think you all do excellent work. I read a lot of it daily, enjoy it very much, take away new ideas on how to do things, but dont always comment. Heck, if we talked all the time we'd be chicks instead of guys.

    Me to!

Somedays I only get a moment or two to "check in" between flights or trips.

And one other thing, you really do need to wear that extra skin layer sometimes when posting a reply. I know I've had... "discussions" ... when an opposing view feels that I'm a complete moron for offering an opinion or thought. After a couple of those, I'll usually just keep to myself for awhile, 'til the skin heals over anyway!
