cad500parts
i am coming to the end of my 472 install in my 71 monte. i ordered the motor mounts and tranny adapter over 2 weeks ago from cad500. it never arrived. i contacted then 3 days ago and asked where the parts are. The guy that was sooo nice taking my order and getting my credit card number stated to me that he did not know what happened to it. that he would check and let me know. he never called. called him again this morning to follow up. he was very rude and told me that he did not have time to go to the front office to check. that he was doing other orders and i should receive mine within the next couple of weeks. he also stated that i would probably get my order before he will contact me again. if anyone is doing a caddy conversion i would strongly suggest that you do not use this company. now i have over $300.00 tied up in 2 parts that are absolutly necessary and do not have a clue of when i will see them.BARB

Barb, that's crap that the guy treated you like that. If you dont get your parts you might check Performance Automotive Warehouse; their catalog has a lot of different adaptors available. Good thing you paid with a credit card, you can always dispute it.

thanks falcon. to put it mildly i am pissed. i have gotten used to being treated differently locally when i started out working on cars as a woman. but not from companies that talked to me like i did not matter at all.BARB

I would call and ask to talk to the manager or the owner.
Then I would let him know how displeased I was with their service.
Then I would let him know that I belonged to a national car club
that often use's his company for their parts.
That will make him take notice and maybe put a rush on your stuff.

Ive never dealt with cad 500, i have bought parts through MTS and have had nothing but good service from them were up front when i ordered my heads re delivery time as had to wait for a production run, very nice stuff!!
are you doing anything to the engine before putting it in?

what i am waiting on is the motor mounts and tranny adapter. i have installed new intake manifold, starter solenoid, wires, alternator, carb, valve covers, spark plug and coil wires. removed all the smog crap. cleaned the engine and painted what need some touch up. do not want to mess with it too much as it was running right before it got pulled. suppose to have less than 67,000 miles on it. have the new oil pan and pickup tube waiting on getting it in position over the engine bay before i install that.BARB

they may not have had that adaptor in stock from their supplier or even at their supplier has not made a prod run yet. Problem with caddy parts are not a big demand for stuff so they either wont have it in stock or it has to be tooled once ordered.
problem is if it is so they should be up front with you and let you know how long or if its going to be a wait .
Good Luck

Take care in putting on the new oil pan.
I had to do mine twice because it keeped leaking.
My pan did have a ding in it, and it was that way when I got the car.
And it had also leaked when I got the car from the beging.
So my pan may have been warped a little.
But what a pain in the but it was to get it to stop leaking.
I ended up useing the black sealent on mine to get it to stop.
I hated to do that but after haveing to disconnect the motor mounts twice
and removeing the oil pan and cleaning it up with very little room, was a pain.
And then there was the trip down the steep drive way with the engine hoist the
car and me getting drug down the drive underneath it.
The only thing that save me that day was I parked my GMC van at the bottom of the drive just in case. If the car would have made it to the bottom of the drive I would have been crushed. I was haveing a new cement slab poured in front of my shop so I did not have a flat place to work on it at the time. I should have waited, it almost cost me.

Barb sorry to hear your troubles. Nothing like saving up for a part, ordering it and setting some time aside for the ETA of the part to work on your car, only not to have it arrive. Regardless of how they get the parts and send them, common curtesy, customer is always right attitude goes along ways towards future buisness.
I've had great luck with Summit and more recently Bebops for communication and timely shipping. I like to plug the good guys too!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
