I am looking at a 71 Camaro, NOT a Z28, 307/auto, 100k miles, looks decent condition in the pictures.

What is the value of such?

Unfortunately you have left out far too much to determine a value. Let's start with the basics:

Interior condition
Exterior condition
Rust
Originality
Options (IE: power steering, power disk brakes, am/fm radio, rally wheels, etc)
Exterior/Interior color combination

Has the motor been rebuilt? Has the transmission been rebuilt? Are they both original to the car? What about the paint and interior, are the original, or have they been redone?

Once you have given us the basics, we can then assist you with some type of guess as to the value of the car.

this is a plain 71 Camaro 307/auto, the guy said in very good condition/restorable, a few lil spots ( yo uknow how those go).

But he is way out of the ball park, he wants $8200! i have seen Z28s in nice shape for less. Not what i want anyway

I want a Z28 and prefer a 4 speed

You know what the underside of that 38 year old car looks like if it came from Upstate NY. Or anywhere else it rains or snows, and where salt is used in the winter It's crap!! And those little spots ----aren't.

It's worth what the guy can get for it, but $8200 for a Plain Jane??????? Naaahh

Tell him to knock the last zero off the price,and you will think about it...
