NASCAR at Bristol
I watched the truck race at Bristol last night on the tube and was reminded what the late Benny Parsons said about Bristol, "It's like racing jet fighters in a gymnasium". Should be an "interesting" race this weekend with NASCAR allowing the racers to race this year. Doubt many cars will finish the event without a bit of dinged up sheetmetal!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave - I'm assuming with this post you are saying that the trucks had a "bang-up" evening. I taped the 11:30 replay so I can watch tonight. Not exactly an 'aero' track. (We are hoping to move within about 75 miles of Bristol and 20 miles from Martinsville)Dave W

Truck series this year has been great, even though the points are very close. The modified race before the truck race was pretty good as well. Look forward to watching the Nationwide and Cup race this weekend. Got great seats in Turn 1 and cant wait for another racing weekend at Bristol.
Dave that is some beautiful country!!!

IC2, I am sure you will enjoy the area. As Nathan stated that is a beautiful part of the USA. I am from Morristown, left in 66. I was through that area last week on my way to Raleigh to visit friends. Bristol and Knoxville used to be the places to go back when. I would move back in a New York min-
it., but Mama loves Austin more. All my relatives and friends go to Bristol for the Drags and races.
Nathan Knoxville's not to shabby either: ref. Smokies,Maggie Valley and area lakes.Don D

We are looking forward to getting to that part of Virginia. I was in Franklin (Rocky Mount/ Smith Mountain Lake area) Botetourt (Fincastle) and Bedford counties last week looking at homes. There are a good many available but we have one significant need - single story as my wife has a really bad back that has only about a 30% chance of being 'fixed' with an operation. One home is very nice and exactly what we want - except the list price is $40K+ too much just to start with
But - with Bristol now having seats available, I do intend on going once we are there.
I hope those teams, regardless of which series, bring their oldest chassis. Even the winner, Jugears II had some front end dings from turning at least one other.Dave W
