How long have you owned a car ???
Mr. Allen Swift ( Springfield , MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Picadilly P1 Roadster from his father, brand new- as a graduation gift in 1928. He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102 !!!
He was the oldest living owner of a car from new. Just thought you'd like to see it. He donated it to a Springfield museum after his death.
It has 170,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years) ...That's approximately 2000 miles per year.

I think what you're asking is how long has anyone owned one single car, if the story about the old gent is a clue.
Well, I have owned my '59 Chevy pickup since 1971 - 39 years. I've had a few that were around for more than ten, but most only hang around for four or five, if that long.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.

I don't think I have had any car more than about 10 years.
I usally get bored after doing a motor or something and sell it to the first person that likes it. Though I have had my 02 Chevy Suburban for almost 9 years it's only because it has taken me almost that long to pay off that 45,000 doller tab!!! HE! HE! HE!

Probably my longest kept vehicle was my '79 F350 460 Super Cab. Bought it in 1980 then sold it in 1997. It still ran great with 235,000 very hard miles on it pulling a pretty heavy 30' 5th wheel camper. It only had a timing chain and gear set, a new carb and distributor in its lifeDave W
