Chem plant blowing up in Henderson, Nevada
Just found this footage on a chem plant blowing up in Henderson, Nevada.
I had seen a differant news real back when it happend in about 1986.
The Video that I had seen was of the plant Manager and his Secritary
comming out the front doors when the plant blew up.
It was taken from the road you see from a distance in this video.
Anyway they disapear when it explodes end the ground looks like it's in the ocean, because the ground moved just like a wave and when the wave hit the cammera guy in the road he falls to the ground because the wave throws him off his feet. This is a differant video from further away.
I was working at the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino as a Blackjack dealer at the time and the lights started swinging around and we thought it was a earthquake. We were about 50 miles from it. My buddy that lived in Henderson had to replace all his windows and doors including the garage door because they were all blown in from the blast.

That was a "boomer". The film was taken from atop Black Mountain, south of Henderson, which used to be about ten miles from the Las Vegas Strip - well, it still is, but the area between is all full of people stuff, now. Amazing to see that pressure wave move out from the blast, and that the desert is so empty; today, that area is completely built out with homes and commercial stuff. There is still a chemical plant there, too.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.

Ya when I went in the Army and came back to visit 3 years later it had grow so much that I would get lost in the new area's. I grew up living behind the Boulivard mall off of Maryland Parkway. There was desert spots all around the area back then but not any more. Those are all filled in now with homes.Used to be able to push my motor cycle a couple block to the desert, jump on and take off for miles through connected patches of desert. Used to be a blast. Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
