We do get those races on our SPEED Channel - but usually way after the race. I really enjoy them even with drivers that I have no clue as to who they are or their past role in racing. What these races are to me is what NA$CAR used to be with 'real' cars way modified to go very fast (kinda dumb analogy, but that's how I see it).
I clicked on the v8 supercars link, but no cheer there Maybe tomorrow with the desk top computer as the laptop I'm using now is really low end in today's computer world.
Thanks for the links thoughDave W

glad you guys get it over there, there have been a few drivers from the US that have tried to conquer the mountan over the years
Ryan Briscoe Borris Said amoung others have all tried to tackle the mountain.

will be interesting to see if anyone can beat it in the shootout under make or break conditions, where you only get 1 lap to do it, unlike lounds after doing 7 or 8 laps of practice before reaching it, not taking anything away from craig, but if its done in the shootout, it will be under more trying circumstances, knowing that you only have 1 lap to do it.

ps craig beat it by a hair lol

Holden drivers Craig Lowndes and Mark Scaife won Australia's premier motor race, the Bathurst 1000, beating Jamie Winchup and Steve Owen in the first one-two finish by teammates since 1984.
Lowndes won the 1,000-kilometer (621-mile) endurance race for the fifth time and Scaife for the sixth, beating the fellow TeamVodafone Holden combination of Jamie Whincup and Steve Owen by 0.173 seconds.
Garth Tander and Cameron McConville of the Holden Dealer Team were third, a further second behind.
Lowndes drove the last 79 laps of the 6.2-kilometer (3.9-mile) Mount Panorama circuit in New South Wales state to win the race. James Courtney, in fifth place, was the first Ford driver to finish.
