My new addition...
Basically, my daughter is in school with a boy that has Neuroblastoma. They had a fundraiser last week for the family.
He is going to NY for round three of chemotherapy and they need help with expenses - lodging and meals for the family are not covered by insurance.
They had 50/50 raffles, silent auctions and someone donated pick of the litter of a German Short-haired Pointer (AKC registered)
The opening bid was $100 put up by the breeder, so jokingly I said to the wife that our dog needs a friend. (She is the last out of a 4 dog pack we had.)
So we bid $150, thinking someone would come along and knock us off - I mean - a AKC GSP is at least $400-$500 around here.
We really don't need another pet at this time - we just had our youngest daughter turned one in August, so it's kind of busy around the house.
We got home from doing our shopping and there was a message. We get to go and pick one out last Tuesday. They have one female and the rest are boys. so we most likely will end up with a male.
We decided on "Riggs" for a name (Lethal Weapon movies)
SO far so good - no accidents and everyone is getting along!

What a cute puppy! My buddy has a german short hair crossed with a wire hair. His name is chopper, and talk about energy. He'll hunt pheasant and quail all day, never stopping just running with a grin from earn to ear, great dogs! Congrats." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I jumping in with Mello with my thoughts and prayers for the little boy and his famliy also. I don't know even how to pronounce Neuroblastoma and I'm going to Goggle it to learn about it but if the little fella is in the same class as the cute girl in the photo, it is just so young to be fighting an issue like this.
Thankyou Wayne and family for your support that you have given that family and also Ihope you all the best with your new addition to the family.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
