The new Crane Cams Quality?
Has anyone out there dealt with the new Crane Cams?
Please post what you bought and your impressions.
I am very interested in their quality also.
One of the first cams I ever bought was a Crane Fireball cam for my 396 Nova in 1970.
Had bought many products up to the close, would really like to know if they are same on the reopen.
ThanksLast edited by Two8tyThree; 10-26-2010 at 08:44 AM. Reason: edit

why would they ? i mean by that there still alot of nos stuff out there. i pick up two new set s of crane gold rocker s back in june .hard to say what is new and whats old stock . but i would bet the rockers i pickup there not the new crane company rockers but n.o.s .i think if you really want to know call them. i hear the phone is on .or call summit or jegs i think they may play this down as many dealers had there stuff still on the shelf. hard to sell some thing when the company is no more .good play to say were back up and running helps sell the old stuff on the shelf. as for there cams i used maybe 20 or so solids hyd and rollers over the years. many more roller lifters and rockers. but there is many cam grinders to pick from. so it was not a big deal for me .were thing did go side ways is that crane made alot of the billet roller cores that other cam grinders used .but others makers have pickup were crane left offLast edited by pat mccarthy; 10-29-2010 at 05:46 PM.

I have a Crane hydraulic roller in the aluminum SBC in my roadster (567 HP at 6300 RPM and 563 ft. lbs. torque at 4800 RPM on dyno), as well as Crane roller rockers.
From what I've heard the "new Crane" products are every bit as good as the "old" ones --if not better, thanks to increased manufacturing resources brought by the company's new ownership. Many of the old tech and production people have been retained (I have friends that work there).

Thanks for the input Pat. I have figured that much out. Thinking of buying a new cam for a balance shaft 4.3 and I bet there are no NOS ones. Just trying to see if everyone is happy with their new Crane stuff.
Thanks Bill I wouldn't think there is any quality difference. Maybe even better because of the start up again. You make some good points.
Anyone else bought from the new Crane Cams recently?______________________________________

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
