We hooked up with Rod & Carol at Bonneville for the Goodguys cruise to Spokane and on to Pleasenton in 2005.
They drove their A pickup with the blown Lincoln V-12.
It was one of the best times i've ever had! Both Rod and Carol are a bunch of fun to travel with, and after Pleasenton they went on to Louisville for the NSRA Nats.
Here's a couple of pics of Rod fixing the blower idler pulley at a motel in Idaho while the rest of us supervise and the interior of the truck with the chain and sprocket window winder. He did it that way so the handle was out of the way of his knee.
The truck was full of cool items like that.

Hey Barnsey it is your birthday today so.... Happy Birthday young man and don't drink too much of that Aussie amber stuff..
Also I have not managed to read all your posts on Rod because of interruptions but will find some quiet time to do that but thanks for posting. He is one of my hero's since reading the article on his Ford Popular too many years ago.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

the Cad is currently touring in the US.
here is a video of it at SEMA.

A customized Cadillac dubbed Wild Cad will be seen at the Showcase of Kustoms Motorama as well as at the upcoming SEMA Show this November. The customization process for this Cadillac took six years. The Harrington Park couple who worked on this vehicle were awarded for their efforts as it was one of two Australian creations to be named at the top 50 at the biggest custom car show in the world. Creators Mario and Catriona Colalillo hope that their one-off 1955 Coupe De Ville will take the D-elegance category. The Caddy is powered by a 7.4-litre 454 big block Chevy engine and is equipped with a Turbo 400 transmission and features a 9-inch rear end, a ‘55 Desoto grille, and fully exposed chassis rails. The Wild Cad’s interior has Thunderbird seats and a center-mounted ‘59 Chevy instrument cluster. According to bornrich.org, its special exterior paint is estimated at AU$200,000. Colalillo said that the car has plenty of features that are “out of the ordinary.” In his estimate, the couple spent thousands of hours on building the car during the six-year period but that the last couple of years had been a “bit of an obsession
I will post up some more of Mario's cars and info about the man soon, like Rod he also has some great cars.
cheers barnsey
