Just got in a four car pile up!!!
I got lucky, I was the last guy to get hit, so there was lots of cussing between me and that speeder.
The guy that hit everyone was in the work Van and he came flying though a inter section and hit all us us sitting stopped on the other side.
The work Van is totaled the first car he hit was totaled.
then he shoved that guy forward in to this beautiful old step side chevy that was dropped and had just been painted last week. Then the chevy came forward and slambed in to the rear of my 02 Suburban. I seen him getting pushed forward but I had people in front of me, so I could not go any were.
It just twisted my back bumper a little and scratched the paint.
Everyone went to the hospital except me, Love them full size cars I don't care what anyone says. I am just sick about the chevy step side though.
His front grill is knocked in fornt bumper is twisted then back bumper is twisted down and underneth the back of his truck and his new paints all meesed up. Both him and his wife were hurt, they were a older couple.
Thier son showed up with a friend to drive thier truck home for them.
Just another day in traffic!!!

Sorry to hear it, but as you said you were the most fortunate of the bunch being last to get tagged. Hopefully the company with the van carries good insurance. With two totals, severe damage to the step and yours they will be tagged for a pretty penny for that guys inattention...Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Wow Kurt, glad you are ok. People drive like idiots, we all see it every time we are out driving around. The sad part is, even with insurance no one really gets compensated for all they are out, like time, missed work, etc.
Well, like they say, cars can be replaced, people can't. Someone was watching out for you.

I am not sure if any texting was involved or not, Hot Rod Surfer.
When the guys son got there to pick up the nice old chevy I thought he was
gonna get in to it with the guy that hit everyone. He was up set because both his Mom and Dad were hurt. I went over and tried to calm him down before the 3 cops that were there said anything. I wanted him to be able to take his Dad's truck home for him, if you know what I mean. His Dad started apologizing to me for running in to me, I told him not to woryy I know it's not your falt I said I seen that other guy comming and smashing the car behind him but I could not get out of the way, because I had cars in front of me.
Then he let me barrow his cell phone to call home because I don't carry a cell phone anymore since I don't work. He was a nice guy anyway I hope they fix his truck back up the way it was, It was a sharp truck anyway.
And Thanks Everyone

Vara, Glad to hear you made out OK, also share your feelings about the little Chevy truck-Damn Shame, hope it works out for the guy as well.
I had to laugh a little at your mention of you driving a full size "Suburban". I was watching a pretty lame ( at least to me it is) TV show Street Customs tonight. They were redoing a new "Smart Car" for some celebrity dude for his wife I think. This poor little excuse for a car came out looking just like a bottle of Pepto-Bismol another words PINK. As I was watching that thing being driven to the shop I couldn't help but wonder what it would look like after a tussel like you had today? Makes you think why would anyone in the right mind drive around in todays world with todays idiots in a Match Box?
Once again glad to hear that you are OK and also glad to hear that you were driving something big enough and strong enough to be OK.......

Kurt, this is for you and everyone reading this. Anytime you are involved in an accident of any kind, GO....TO....THE....HOSPITAL....IN....AN....AMBULANCE....Period!!!!!!
You never know what injuries will show up later that you don't feel now. Sharon and I operated a courier service in the Greater Phoenix area for over 2 decades. Each of us drove....in town traffic....over 100 miles every day, so we had increased odds of being hit. I was hit 8 times over the period of 23 years, none of them my fault. But the important part is.....sometimes I didn't develop symptoms of pain or discomfort for 2 weeks or more.
If you tell everyone at the scene that you are unhurt and OK, all of that goes into the record. Then later, when you begin to have problems, you don't have a leg to stand on legally. If you're not a doctor, you have no idea if you're injured or not. Go to the hospital.
I still have a chip of bone from my 5th cervical vertebra floating around loose in my neck where a delivery truck smashed into the rear of my car in 1980. I felt nothing but a little soreness at the scene, but had plenty of problems later. I related on another thread about pinched nerves in my spine, I think that's how I got into the condition I'm in, by getting hit all those times.Last edited by techinspector1; 12-08-2010 at 10:28 PM.

You might be surprised. it has crumple zones, but the passenger compartment is a roll cage. Having had a ride in one with someone I used to work with I hate them...noisy (in a bad way), rough, obviously underpowered, premium gas, only 40mpg...not worth the sacrafices imo. They seem safer than they look though.
Back on topic...I hope everyone is ok and hope the old Chevy gets fixed back up the way he had it.'35 Ford coupe- LT1/T56, '32 Ford pickup, 70 GTO convertible, 06 GTO

A man was watching his wife as she prepared to fry sausages in a pan. He noticed that before placing the sausages in the pan, she always cut off both ends, threw them away, and cooked only the middle...
