Monday AM I went and talked to an officer at the bank and she gave me a printout of all the charges and where they were made. They also refunded my $ 500.00 since she could tell they were not ones I had charged.

Being an old bill collector, I wasn't satisfied, and tracked down the girl who had made the charges. She stayed at a local motel for the weekend and ordered up all kinds of food and stuff while she was there. The motel gave me a copy of her driver's license, and I spoke to the places where she had run up a tab with my ATM numbers. The next day I went to the local police dept and gave them a thick file with all the info they needed to make an arrest, and the Desk Sgt who waited on me said "Oh yeah, we know this girl REAL WELL!"

Guess what happened? NOTHING! They essentially told me that $ 500 is not worth pursuing and that the District Attorney would probably not do anything with it. No wonder criminals operate with such impunity in this country.

    Don

BTW, I found out she had gotten my atm info out of a trash can, when I tossed a restaurant receipt that had all that info printed out on it. That was before they passed the law where only the last four digits appear.
You found out who it was and where she was, and still went to the police????
You are a much better guy than me.
I would of recovered anything I could of from her, then put a fear in her so big she would not ever think of it again and remember me for life. Everytime she sees a credit card she would breakdown.

I have no fears of posting info on here.
I live in a small village and most people know where it is.
Most people here also know me so it's real hard to hide.
If they want something from me, my dogs will let me know
in no uncertain terms. Good luck to them, I say..

Tuakau...now,thats a different story...little potato and onion growing community just up/down[you choose]the road from Whiplashes place....The height of entertainment was[30 years ago] watching the grass grow.. Nowadays, they watch the vegetables grow..

Something like Woodstock - which is only about 50 miles South of me. It's farm/cow country and 2nd homes for the New York City well off. I didn't go to either concert but a guy working for me went to the first - let's say he was kinda useless for a couple days afterwards

(I had seen John Denver 3 times, and once was in 1978 and probably the same tour as you noted)

Since this thread is already hi-jacked, I'll continue with my story of Mr Deutschendorf.Jr. (aka John Denver).

John moved to Colorado at the same time that I did in 1970 and I became a huge fan the minute that I heard "Rocky Mtn. High" - - - even tho he was writting the song about himself - - - little did he know that he was writting about me and every word in the lyrics fit me to a "T". I will always be gratfull for hearing that song and realizing exactly what I was really going thru at the time. Thank you, John, and may you Rest In Peace.

Seeing as it was us Kiwis who hijacked this,[I think]I will come back with.....
We are as careful as we can be,without being paranoid, about information, only put out what we have to,,we have more probs with people phoning us wanting to tell us we have just won this,or that,,or trying to get our E mail address,so they can send us 'important information',critical to our business...yeah,right...
