Thanks for replies. Roger, the seal beam notation really has me wondering.
dmw 56 yes it does seem to be the right size for a 35.I dont have a need for it,just thought it was a neat piece and the price was right.the first thing the wife said when she saw it was( why did you buy that). I said because it was on sale. Didnt hear another word all the way home. lol

It's a lense for an early sealed beam. 1939 to about 1948. Originally it was crimped into a steel back shell to make a sealed beam assembly, and was not serviced seperately. Over the years, the steel shell rusts away, leaving just the lens. The manufacturer in this case was BLC, but Guide and TungSol both made similar lights.
