Back in the late 40's and early 50's my Grandparents used to take me to Colorado every summer and we often visited Crested Butte, Colorado where the 2 story outhouse was everywhere and the snow got 8 to 10 feet deep so the top hole was used exclusively during the Winter. Sure wouldn't have wanted to be around during the Spring Thaw tho
