No, not at all, in fact, I think it's funny. I expected the guy to turn it because he wasn't like the normal buyer.........never test drove it, or even sat in it. But the funny part is how he has totally stretched the truth about where the car was built, who built it, the cost to build it, etc, etc.

Guess you can't trust those Ebay ads, huh, Ken???

West coast, east coast, ............. It sure did come out nice. But at half of build cost...... wouldn't that be more like $1500.00.......... I know you went over your target but had no idea you were 37k over....
Just goes to show you some people are really full of it. Maybe you should inquire and ask a few questions........

Why not post a "loaded" question to him with some known information - I believe that they are automatically posted - then see what his answer will be and if he pulls it from Ebay.

It's a good thing this guy didn't get his hands on any of the pictures I took with the chick in the green bikini at the beach or his ad would have said "Once owned by Paris Hilton!"

Now that I think about it, I don't think the guy I sold it to is the one selling it now. He had 8 collector cars but just moved here from out of State so a dealership this size isn't something he would own. He evidently traded it in or sold it to this guy. I can understand that the new seller might not have all the details of who built it and all that jazz, but MAN, this guy even gives dishonest car salesmen a bad name. Here is some other stuff he posted about it on his website:

1915 Ford custom hotrod 350, auto, high end build on the unique car , painless wiring , powdercoated frame and engine block duel 2bl carbs , neat looking Califorina hotrod that is old school built to detail call us for details
    Stock # C120
    VIN EBP94F6DZ683622
    Year 1915
    Make Ford
    Model T-Bucket
    Transmission Auto
    Mileage 3000
    Exterior Color Black
    Doors CV
    New/Used Used
    Price $19,995.00

I did not use a Painless kit for wiring and the frame and engine are painted, not powder coated. I guess some people do whatever is needed to make a sale. More than anything I was just shocked to see it on Ebay.

That car DID come out really nice, Don. But $40k to build a T-bucket? I hope most people wouldn't believe that. We should all tell the guy we know the builder from CHR and that he needs to change the ad.

Yeah, I only had $39 K in it!!!! His ad expires in 10 hours with no takers so far, so I think most of us car guys know what these things cost to build. However, I am quite flattered that he likes my work so well. You can all start calling me Don Foose from now on.

Looks like the guy I sold it to didn't do one thing to it except drive it maybe. The carbs look a little gas stained, so I guess he did put some miles on it. I should buy it back, it actually looks pretty good there, maybe I made a mistake selling it.

It would would be quite a rush to see somthing you built go for that kind of money, relative to your investment. The only thing that would be better is if you got to cash the check. Most of the time you are luck to break even, that's figuring in some reasonable ammount for your time. Go Foose........... Maybe the next one will break the 100k mark......

Like most of us, I watch some of all of Barrett Jackson, and it becomes very obvious that most of the cars that sell there go for WAY below what it would cost to build the same one. I've seen some cars they call Tuesday Cars go for mid $20's that are a real steal. Even some of the cars that sell for $60 to $80 probably have half that much in paint and bodywork alone. If a guy were to add up all that we spend to build our cars, we would be better to save up and go to BJ and pick up one for 50% of what the guy spent to build it..........and we wouldn't have to spend all those hot or cold nights in the garage, burning and cutting ourselves.
