All so very true!!! Seems most forums get so caught up in the "our way or the highway" bs that they seem to have overlooked the fact that the reason most of us got into Hot Rodding was to be able to be unique, build what we want, and enjoy the company of others who have chosen to do the same. Maybe it's because the majority of members here are such non-conformists and our interest are so diversified???
IMO, Club Hot Rod has always represented the segment of Hot Rodding that most closely resembles "how it was" when all this stuff got started.... Unique cars built by unique builders, some of whom build with their hands and others who build with their checkbooks, but all show enthusiasm for Hot Rodding and respect other individuals and their choice of style.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

This place is,to me,a cyber club house, which I am glad and proud to be a part of..Lifestylz,Whiplash,Redneck,myself and a few others belong to a local forum, which is run by the local hotrod mag..Good place to be most of the time..but I do have to admit that the time I spend on here,is quite different to home..if ya know what I mean.. I may have mentioned it before, but this is a second home for me,because of the lack of bad mannered, nit pickin, bad mouthed people who only come on to stir up what ya find in the pig pen...
Mr Mustang would have a real ball with some of the folks who stir on the other sites I[we] belong to..
I also like ''different'',so am enjoying the VW newbies build threads..V8notchman,thats kool..V8 square...likewise,,nuthin like scaring the daylights out of some one with a VW..Last edited by lamin8r; 02-05-2011 at 07:24 PM.

Well put, I miss Mike as well he was always trying to help people out, myself included.
It's always sad when we lose friends on here. It's always a comfort to know there are so many friends on here preying for them. The best part of this site is friends that are always willing to help you out with a problem or teach you something you didn't know.
Thanks All.

Every once in a while I find some thread from when I joined, in about 2005, and there will be a post from a member who has passed on, and it is sad. Some of those are Jim, Duane, Dennis, and some I am forgetting right now. We shared their illnesses and passings and although we never met them in person we feel a deep, real loss.
We all share in each others good times and not so good times, and tell things on here we probably would not discuss with another human being in the world. The internet is a very interesting place.

This is one place we all can agree to disagree & no one has a hissyfit (well almost nobody) and NOBODY cares what you drive or are building. Now we may make fun of them a bit but its all in good fun and will help them in anyway we can....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Hi Unc,
Just came across this post and missed last nights disaster but let me just ditto all the replies above. I have been warmly welcomed and accepted here despite my lack of experience and ingenuity displayed by the real pros on this board. It is a real joy to be a member here.

Well said Uncle Bob.
I was surprised to realise I've been here better than five years, doesn't seem that long.
There's a wealth of information and knowledge on here that is always freely given.
It's been very enjoyable, and I can relate to ohekk's comments about logging on but not always posting.
Maybe some of us are just more gabby than others!

This site is the garage we would all hang out at if we could. I know I do most of my work myself and alone. When I have something I can't figure out this is where I come for advise and usually the answer. It would be awful lonely with out you guys and gals.

Damn what did i miss? I leave for awhile and all hell breaks loose!
Damn fine points from all i must say! This site is still the best best out there! And i was glad to see when i started lurking again that all of "the crowd" is still here with a few additions in the mix. i still get the warm welcome that was always present in the club.
