Rrruff!!!
Well the wife and I came home after going to the store to find the front window smashed out.
It's a good thing we have burgler bars or all of the dogs would have been on the front veranda.
I don't know if anyone came to the door but I think the dogs let them know that they were not allowed to have company while Mommy and Daddy were gone!!!
It's a good thing we had that thick dark 3M on the window or they probably would have gotten cut up. Puppy dogs ya gotta love them, keeping the home safe!!!

Daggone Kurt, sounds like you have an Angel helping your puppies watch the place also. That could have been a nightmare. Glad it was just a broken window and nothing else!.

One day I caught a couple door to door sales men teasing the dogs thru the window.
I guess because it took me a while to get to the door, they thought no one was home.
So when I got to the door I could see the guy's teasing them thru the window.
So I opened the door and asked them if they wanted me to let the dogs out to play with them. I have not seen them guys again!!! HE! HE! HE! Mean Ain't I!!!

I think, in todays financial times, more of this home invasion/smash & grab business is going to be regular.
Looks like guns are not the only thing I need at my home.
I'm glad to see the dogs did what comes natural ... keeping varments out of the house. Give em an xtra treat for me.

Sorry to hear that, Kurt, and I have seen your Mom and Pop boxers, so I bet they do a good job of protecting your home.

Place a very large dog bowl and an old pair of size 16 boots on the front porch. Might also help to toss a few spent cartridge casings down around the bowl. Most ne'er-do-wells will get the idea.

Dogs are Great to help protect Your Home . My First Pit Bull was Mean as Hell and did not Like anyone near the Doors . The One I have now is a bit more easy going . But she stands up strong when she hears a Loud Knocking at the Door . And I see how easy She bites Large Sticks in Half . Still good to have a Gun on the Ready when your Home so the Dogs don't have to get Hurt if a Crack Head Kicks your Door in . Before I had a Dog I was Home with My then 5 Year old Daughter . Two Burn Outs were trying to Force open the outside Screen Door ! I told My girl to get in the other room . I grabbed My 45 Auto then I told them Burn Outs if I Let go of this Door and you get inside I will shoot ya . They ran off . I was Glad for that . I was most worried about how that would have effected My Daughter . Now she if 20 Years old and Remember how it was a good thing to have a Gun that day .Wisdom is acquired by experience, not just by age

Vara4,
I am glad everything worked out okay. Dogs are the best deterents for thieves. Thieves would rather hit someone elses home that does not have a dog. My baby does her share of deteringHow many lumps ya want with that?

We've had a few very good dogs in our lifetime, one was a German Shepard, and the other was a Doberman. When we were living in California my then wife was in the bathroom doing her makeup and a guy tried coming through the window. He was met by the Dobie who was trying to get through the window the other direction. No telling what the dog prevented that night. She got an extra treat though, that's for sure.

At Holloween we used to draw a chalk out on the side walk in front of the door.
That always got people to thinking too. HE! HE! HE! That with some spent brass,a big dog food bowl and some 16 size boots should do it.

Just today, thre was a news report that three individuals forced their way into a local residence. There were gunshots....and it turns out that one of the intruders was killed. The woman that shot him was also wounded by gunfire, but one of the intruders got the worst end of the deal. Turns out the dead SOB had a long history of crime. The other two intruders took off running. What's scary to me is that this stuff is happening more frequently. The town I currently live in used to be kind of a friendly place where violent crime was rare. Now it seems the druggies and illegals have moved in, and this stuff is becoming commonplace. I'm planning to purchase a handgun to protect my family and myself, and I will not hesitate to use it if we are threatened.
