Reading jayski on line, most of the race reporters feel about what I do - it's fast, but it ain't racin' with a bunch of two car clumps for all but the last 1000 feet. Yep, I'll be watching the 500 as well as the two qualifiers, but will be waiting for the 'short track season' where the drivers/ teams can show what they are really made of.

I was very disappointed with the "two car pairings" racing in the shootout. That isn't what I consider as racing. If that is what NASCAR is selling to the viewer for their Super Bowl of racing, they are in trouble in my opinion. This style of racing will take out the majority of the field with major wrecks, beyond what the restrictor plates cause. Not what I want to see. Hopefully the fuel injection will give NASCAR better ways to control speeds and still give drivers a more responsive engine to race with. What wide open throttle racing where drivers can't even lift for fear of losing six car lengths if they do and risk wrecking everyone behind them creates is bad enough. Now add another cars front bumper stuck to their rear bumper all the way around the race track lap after lap. I just can't see that as racing! Those teams best be ready to load up some scrap metal. We'll see come Sunday.

I can't see what the difference is! Beforethey were stuck in a 2 lane by 20 something line of cars with no confidence to jump out of line and at least now they can pair up and go to the front! Sometimes as many as 4 wide! Now THAT is racing!!! Fuel injection will just be another form of restrictor plate! They can either control air intake (restrictor plate) or control fuel flow volume (fuel injection).
I still say toss off the spoilers, give'em skinny tires and let's race! This ain't F-1 !!!

Watching the trucks practice, they're up to 192 or 3 in the draft and down about 10 mph from that by themselves... Good blacktop job on the track!!!! The twins should be good races tomorrow, then truck qualifying afterwards with 43 trucks going for 36 starting spots....hmmm, might be wild!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Well I take it from that post that Ford must have dominated the day---NOT.
They were there in the end got to give them credit for that, and seeing the Woods bros in victory again was a joy for all race fans everywere. This young man Trevor ran a very good race all day long as well.
But Ford did not dominate the race. Chevy ran up front all day that and the only Dodge were challanging from the begining. I am glad to see a Ford win Finally again, lately in Nascar Ford has been struggling and to see them run so well today was just great. Until all of the manufacturers are competetive it's not really a race now is it?

Good point, Roland!!! Got to keep that balance among the big 3 in the win column!!!! Even though they're nothing like the car I drive, I can still take a bit of pride in the fact that Ford (finally) won one!!!! Even though they only led minimal laps, a win is a win!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
