Daytona
Just catching some of the practice time for the Bud Shootout...the cars are flying and the new track surface looks really great!!!!! Hard to believe the original track held up so well since 1959, doubt the new blacktop will make it that long...
Man, 203 mph with a restrictor plate!!!! Awesome!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I am having a hard time getting ready for daytona. Not sure what it is outside of don't care much for the bull that goes behind the scenes but it is in every sport. I think my biggest problem is Mark Martin driving for Hendrick. I have not been able to get over that one. Will see what happens when I watch tomorrow night.

i am not doing the racing money game anymore. tired of the elitist attitude that was once never there. just plain tired of it. sold almost all of my racing garbage, man it sure cleans the storage unit up nice.

Not really a complete repave, mostly a shave of the bumps and added an additional 2" to the surface
Anyway, tonight's the Bud Shootout.... Speeds are already a bit over 203, probably faster once the guys get the new traction and surface dialed in a bit more. All money, no points, for sure gonna be a wild one!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Interesting watching the pairings. Very different than in recent years. Some work from time to time, others not so much. The two Childress cars have the most consistency staying to the front, and look to be working well together, the most disciplined........for now anyway.
The two guys who looked like they danced with the most different partners, and kept, or got, to the front are Earnhardt and Ky Busch (where's my mr. yuck sticker?). THAT could get interesting.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Very interesting race, most of the racers said they were having fun. I'm not so sure I like the two car packs, I commented to the wife how all the two car pairings reminded me of love bugs hooked together . I'm sure the 500 will be more exciting with all 43 cars in the mix, should be another great race. With the over 200mph speeds, I wouldn't be surprised if Nascar changes the size of the restricter plates before the Duels on Thursday. Anyone care to pick the 500 winner?

If they are racing in those pairings,I would rather see NASCAR remove the restricter plates and let them race normally.Good Bye

Interesting - but not really sure that it was a race except the last few hundred yards when it became a 4 car drag race. The ARCA race earlier on Speed was really a better 'race'.
Then with Derrike Cope, Regan Smith and Kevin Conway running interference!!!
It has to get better or NA$CAR will be losing even lots more fan base.Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
