This says a lot.

Who-da-thought you could get a refi at the gas station easier than at the bank.

3.89 at the cheap station for the last 2 days... for regular

Up to $3.65 overnight.

Yeah I have been looking for ages at crew cab pickups,
but I'm actually glad to see higher prices at the pumps
to encourage OTHERS to drive more economically and
save the environment.

But gas prices are a bit higher now. more in line with reality.
Not the greatest for the economy but it could be a helluva shock
if gas prices go immediately to $10+/gallon without the $4-5-6-7/gallon
in between.

The USA peaked oil production in the '70s and just recently
Saudi Arabia announced they had peaked in production and not
able to sustain levels of production acheived earlier.

Increasing demand on a limited resource.
Get ready for really high prices in this decade.

The last time gas prices were $4/gallon we saved 100 million barrels/day.

Paid $4.11 for regular unleaded. It's starting to hurt filling the 16 gallon tank!

Calif is still higher then we are here in Florida.
But the problem is I only run Prem in all my cars.
Fill up when it's cool out not when it's hot.
Gas expands just like trany fluid, you get more for
your money when the gas is cool.
When I was hauling fuel we had stations that told us to fill their tanks all the way to the top so they would not run out of fuel before their next load would come in. Then the next day we would have the station call and ask what we did because they would have gas running down the street. Well they didn't sell any gas before the ground warmed up and the fuel expanded and came up out of the tanks and would run down the street.
Now the install Butterfly's in the tanks which will only allow you to fill them 90% so that does not happen. There are ways to still fill them up if you know what your doing but if it comes out of the ground now it's on the driver for by passing the safety, and he will have big problems, the EPA is involved in everything now so it could be expessive for him.

I paid $ 3.99 yesterday for Premium. Looks like a lot of SUV's and pickups will be back on the market real soon real cheap again. We all kinda got lulled into thinking that $ 2.50 gas was going to be around forever again, didn't we?

Watched a show the other night on electric cars. For the first time I am pretty exited about some of these. The Testa is one that I liked a lot, and it runs about 240 miles on a charge. But I have a question. What do they do about air conditioning in these cars? It would seem like ac and headlights would really drain the batteries quiickly.

I saw Mobil's 3 blends at $3.91/$4.05/$4.19 in Albany, NY this morning. About 25 miles North we are "only" $3.77 - $3.79. Diesel is $4.25 -$4.35

The cheapy place next to my house came DOWN to 3.55 for reg.!

Good question among many that don't get asked often. This past winter some folks learned some limitations for battery life when caught in blizzards. The most pertinent question that almost never gets addresed by the wizards of smart in the media and politics (bedfellows they) is the notion of "energy independence" as pertains to the batteries. The lithium and rare earths used in their construction are not at all available in our country (unlike petroleum). But hey, maybe it's not about "energy independence" after all.

If you do a study of the notion of "Running out of petroleum", it's been a recurring theme for around 100 years. Seems that technology keeps evolving and "finding" more, or should that be reclaiming more as techology permits.
