Jay Leno's Garage
I had the opportunity to go threw his garage today. If you ever get the chance it is well worth the time. It's in 6 buildings all tied together except for the restoration shop. In the restoration shop he also has all his steam engines and steam powered cars. He has such a diverse intrest in things mechanical. There are about 130 cars and over 100 motorcycles. I don't think I could pick a favorite, he has so many that I like. But the McLaren's are close to my heart.

Ken's not "the public" in So Cal.....................he's ROYALTY!!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Wow Ken,
What a fantastic opertunity to get to tour his garage. I've seen videos of parts of it, and some of the cars there, and a few bikes. There was a short spot with one of his mechanics working on some old unique car, fabricating new replacement parts. The place was immaculate!
Next time Jay tells you to drop by, just ask if a few hundred of your buddies can come too!
How's the coupe coming along?
I'm in Az(Flagstaff this week) enjoying some time off from work! Monique and I went skiing at the local reort. On fridays, it's 10 bucks for a 2pm-6pm lift tickets, and the same for ski rentals, not to shabby for two farts like us who haven't skied in years!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I may have an opportunity to bring a few friends there. Seriously is it something any of you would come here if I can? It isn't open to the public.

I can just imagine how neat of a day that must have been to do a tour of that place. You keep with good company Ken.

Ken I'd love to, just need to know dates way ahead of time to try and get down your way. Seriously if I'm headed to Orange county, I'll email you, that would be one of those rare oppertunities not to miss out on." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

There was an edition of 'My Classic Car' on last night with Dennis at Jay's garage. They tried out the Shiloh and a 7L '67 Galaxie. I was trying to peek around those two to see waht was there, but couldn't see much.
Here's his website for more stuff: http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/

OK, there seems to be enough interest. I don't know for sure if I can do any of this, but this is what I'm thinking. We go to his garage in the early afternoon then I will get tickets for his show that night. There is a good Mexican resturant across the street fron the studio, we can go from the garage to there, then the taping for the show starts at five.
If you haven't been to a live taping it's pretty neat, a lot goes on that you don't see in the final show. I will find out ahead of time who the guest will be that night. Just in case it's Hanoi jane or someone you you don't like

Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
