Mixed Wheel Size
Hello,
I just joined this forum today in order to get insight on building my 32 coupe. Like many of you my project is a Low to No budget operation so I buy only pre-owned parts. Yesterday I purchased some American Racing Torq-Thrust II wheels and they are 14x6 and 15x10. I planned to run 29" tires on the rear but i'm not sure whether or not the 14" wheels would look good on the front.
Your opinions would be appreciated.
Regarding a previous post in which the question was asked: "what's a rail job".
That's what us old timers called dragsters. I used to race one back when I was healthy and wealthy. Now I'm just a old man with no money.

14s will look fine with the 15s, the difference is barely noticable.........it was a very common combination in the '70s. It's getting harder to find 14 inch tires though, not impossible, just harder. Something around 25 inch should do it. Presume you're going hiboy? One other consideration is brake to wheel compatibility, if you don't have the front brakes make sure you get some that will fit inside those wheels.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Can't add much to what Uncle Bob said. The "look" will be fine with the mismatch 15's & 14's, and a lot will depend on the stance with a full fendered car. Tuck the fronts up into the fenders and should have a sweet rake to it. Post up some pictures when you can. Here's a link to a post from Don that explains the necessary resizing unless you have your camera set for tv/monitor size files.

I built a 3W with 6 x 14 fronts around 1990, It was fenderless, I'm not sure how a fendered car will look with 14's though. the fronts may look a little lost in the fenders.
Its aweful lonesome in the saddle since my horse died.

I run 14s on the front and 15s on the rear and I am very happy the set up. It is very 70s and some of the "purists" may frown at it but, if you like it then Rock On !.

I'm running 15 x 8.5 on rear with 29" piecrusts, and 14 x 6 on front with some 185 x 75's. It's fenderless, but I like that rubber rake. Course I was a teen in the early 70's...........

14s in front 15s in the rear. You can change the stance with by changing springs and thetre location in the frameCharlie

I used 2" dropped spindles along with the 14's in front to get the rake I wanted. It sure keeps the suspension and steering sweet that way..
