What are you bringing to NSRA meet in OKC. I know you always have something to drive. Unlike us poor people here in Tejas. Will be there hopefully Friday and Saturday. Miss you at GoodGuys Last week, turn out a little weak.Sometime Kool is the Rule But Bad is Bad

Don,
Duane (N&N) Noblett almost always makes OKC, and also NSRA Springfield, MO over Memorial Day. He had his orange deuce coupe at Springfield last year, and over the winter got the interior done so I expect he'll be showing it off. We'll likely miss both this year with daughter-in-law expecting around Memorial Day, and daughter's 3D sonogram to "meet the twins" scheduled for April 16, which I have been informed is not an optional event for grandpaRoger

May 1 does not leave alot of time for play when trying to get the shop done.
Moving and building a shop is a lot of work, I might add back braking work.
I am supposed to move in to my new home by may 15 and I am still wondering if I will make it by then. 25 years of stuff here to go thru and decide what I want and don't want to take with me. Lots of work, I fill for ya Don.

Are you going to lay a layer of visqueen over the fill for a vapor barrier to stop moisture wicking up from the ground & condensing on your floor (and on anything close to the floor) in the spring & fall?Roger

Had asked numerous concrete guys in the area, and all said the same thing.
Not needed.
I've built 6 homes and 5 shops in the last 40 years and neve laid a barrier and never had a problem.
The real secret is good drainage and site prep.
Kinda like doin paint prep --- Gotta get it right B4 ya lay it down. When I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

For the cost of the visqueen I would put down a layer, but that's just me... I did not notice any drain tiles or special prep to divert ground water...may not be needed as you say.Roger

Rog, It will have a 3 ft wide concrete run off gutter on all 3 sides to get rid of the water that will run off down the slope to the creek behind property.
Gonna match what is already what is on the exsisting shop.
Got a 4 ft drop in less than 30 ft.
Don't think any water is gonna stand still too long. When I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

Don,
I kick myself for not putting down a barrier beneath my slab. We have about a foot of fall toward the shop from the front of the property, and I have that bermed to direct the water around the end of the building. Then it slopes continuously toward the creek at the back of the property, about a one in ten for 500 feet, then a ten or twelve foot drop to the creek. We must have a shelf or clay layer that holds water, as my slab sweats something terrible several times a year as the temperatures rise. If I had it to do again I would spend the $30 or $40 for a 6mil layer of plastic beneath my slab.Roger
