Reminds me of one evening a buddy and I were sitting in the drive thru parking lot at the Oscars on Westminster Blvd. in Santa Ana a couple of blocks or so from I-5. I was driving my Dad's 64 Bird having just returned from Okinawa. We were chasing skirts and a lot of "hot cars" were making laps through the drive thru and many were running with a vacuum line unhooked for the whinny blower sound. Everyone one was having a pretty good time until this black, flamed 32 roadster running a blown 327 pulled through. The moment he appeared everyone turned 'em off and except for the whine of the blown 327 you could have heard a pin drop. The roadster was Tom McMullen"s and if memory serves me right he won AA/SR with it at the 65 Winternationals.

Now THAT is a cool memory. A real piece of history and you were there.
