Thanks guys. Yep, it was sure fun.

Oldmanb, Life does take us in directions we never planned, and sometimes it really turns out for the better.

Mello, I guess they are sort of "chips." Sometimes I wish I had been a golfer when this car hobby gets to us though.

Roger, we've discussed the Car Chemistry stuff. So yours isn't blowing out because of the fg wrapping? Interesting.

Buzz, I bet your Kid enjoys it as much as you.

Bob, and I thought $ 5.00 a pack was bad! But you are right, it's for a good cause.

Dave, that's crazy about the weather up there. Didn't some areas have about a foot of snow this week?

John, glad to see you are still around these parts.

    Don

Appears that you had your own mini "Power Tour", I'll bet that was a hoot. Hope you didn't cause any wrecks from all of the googling.

No wrecks, but every once in a while a car would ride right beside us and you would see a flash bulb go off. I bet some of the comments non car people make are super interesting.

    Don,
I used "Chore Girl" Scrubbers first, and they simply did not quiet things down much at all. Second was fiberglass packing from the motorcycle shop, about 3/4" thick but soft and fluffy with a skin of sorts on both sides. I wrapped that as tight as I could, wired it in place with SS safety wire, and lit it off. It was a little quieter, but within hours I had little fluffy pieces of FG blowing out the pipes, and it was getting progressively louder. Took the baffles out the next day and I had four SS wires dangling on the pipes That's when I called CC, and they told me they have good luck with their SS packing and the FG wrap. I noticed that they now offer a baffle that has one extra center plate, four total, and they say that one drops the sound as much as ten decibles, which is a ton since it's a logarithmic relationship - each point doubles the sound heard. I may give them a try one day.

Something similar has probably happened to anyone on here with a car at a "show". We had a street show in downtown Henderson yesterday. Along with the usual conversations, at one point a young East Indian girl (16-18ish) asked if she could sit behind the wheel of the '30 roadster so her daddy could take some pictures. What the heck!! Her mother thanked me profusely, and so did dad. She was grinning from ear to ear. I can't imagine she knew much about traditional hot rods, but for whatever reason this one rang her bell. Most girls her age there were much more interested in the "Smokey Bandit" Trans Am parked next to us. Just another of those little fun moments with cars.

Roger, we had strands of ss scrub pads hanging out the holes too. We have kind of come to the conclusion the current level is "close enough". Dan drove it around the industrial park tonight while I stayed behind to listen how it sounded, and it was louder than a Vette with side pipes, but more quiet than it was with open headers. He also realizes that turndowns on the end of the headers would help a lot as they aim right at you now, but cosmetics are important, you know. And he likes the way they look right now.

Andy, sorry to hear about the lousy weather. Well, it IS only April so Spring is still a few weeks or so away, up north. Pretty soon you should have some nice weather. Down here we are already starting to sweat, looks like it will be another scorcher this Summer.

Bob, I've done the same thing, and the smiles on the faces of the kid and his parents is priceless. On the other hand, some people have zero respect for other peoples stuff, and sometimes you just have to say something. When Dan's rpu was sitting in front of the stage at Billetproof some guy (who looked like he had one too many) walked up and set his beer bottle on Dan's rear tire. I debated with myself for a few minutes because I didn't want to spoil Dan's experience there, but finally I couldn't take it anymore. I walked over, took the bottle from the tire, handed it too him, and said "Here, thank you." He got the point, but WHO does that stuff?????? If that bottle had fallen into the bed we would have been the ones repairing the damage.

I guess some people just have had no upbringing.

Don just got on here tonight. Very cool photo at the gas station. I'm glad Dan's RPU is drivable and doing road trips. It turned out great, as did yours and Don Jr.s. Must be pretty cool to have three rods driving down the road in one family!

Dan, Don, Don's GF Taylor, and I drove to a town about an hour away for a car show they have up there. We got there too late to get registered, but we had a great time anyway. Met a lot of nice folks and saw a whole bunch of cars that we have never seen before.

It was about 90 degrees and I am cooked today, but it was worth it. Here is a picture of us stopping for gas and one going down the road. Dans car is in the lead, but so low it doesn't show up in the picture.

Well, you CAN be, Steve. When are you and Sue coming Stateside again? Hope it is this Spring.

Bad news though. That English Pub we took you to has gone out of business. Go figure!

The site wouldn't let me post yesterday

That looks like you had a great tour. Love those pictures

Someday soon, the weather here will turn and we up in the North will be able to drive our cars (mine MIGHT get out this week, but it looks like another of solid cruddy weather)

Thanks for sharing the outing nothing like cruising to a show with family or buds and watching the faces along the way.

No cruizin' up here today either, Don.....Weather man said it might make it up to 50 someday this week though! Almost a good thing I don't have anything ready, I'd really be going bonkers if I had a done one sitting inside ready to go....But next time you're out could you put the camera on the dash so I can at least remember what a roadster ride in nice weather feels like??????
