Bin ladin dead
I was shocked to hear this news tonight, but felt some relief and closure for 911. My brother flew into Afghanistan just before Easter for a 4-6 month assignment as a Army Doctor. Two days before he arived 6 soldiers who were medics asigned to him were blown up by a terrorist sleeper in the Afgany army. He was very quiet about the details, but we've been worried for his safety and all of our troops. I am worried about what comes next, but hope maybe this will be a changing point for us over there. Just felt the need to wish all of our troops well during this time. Steve." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Being the eternal skeptic - show us the pictures, gory as they might be, then I can believe that he is feeding the fish instead of a political 'event'. Then, I'll rescind these words and cheer
Now - another thing - this isn't over. These Muslim zealots are still waiting to kill any non believers (Westerners) and now they will do it with a renewed sense of right on their side.Dave W

That news last night made my day. I'd love to meet the brave soldier who got to fire that round. Those are some strange people over there..........willing to strap a bomb onto their 12 year old kids and women, all in the name of religion.
I sure hope there really is a hell so Bin Laden gets his just reward.

Don I'm with you. I just can't understand how blowing up innocent people can be considered a holy act. My brother was really quiet about going off to Afghanistan, after being in Iraq 2 years ago. He seemed hesitant to talk about it, because he will be more exposed in Afghanistan going between 5 aid stations for his assignment. I emailed him over Easter to see how things were going, and that's when we heard about his buddies getting blown up. When I googled the news report, it talked about one cell sleeper agent in the Afghani police who has served for three years, that after three months of going out on raids with US troops, suddenly shot all of his buddies in the back during a fire fight. I guess it's hard to wrap your head around that. I do hope this eventually leads to a decline in terrorism, but realize that it will be slow, it it does happen. Just glad they got this particular @$$* if anyone deserved it he did!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

What I want to know is where are all the "GOOD" up standing Muslin's citizens that believe in true freedom, the American way and the loss of all life on 9-11.
Those good folks should be celebrating in the streets that this terrorist is dead also.
WHERE'S that news clip video????????
Good luck finding that...........joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

That's the problem, Joe. One day they are cheering us for ridding them of some vile dictator, and the next day the same people are burning our flag and rioting. It's been the same for years.......whenever some disaster happens the first people to offer help are the Americans, and yet we are hated by so many people who took that help.
I really wish we could just close off our borders, take care of our own, and the hell with the rest of these idiots........let them blow each other into their "heaven." But we are too nice to ever do that.

I have been told that all the straight skinny on this is available
on Politico.com and it's way too lengthy to post here..

It's funny about how many people are skeptical. I'm a little paranoid for sure, but I dont think the pentagon would risk this announcement to get egg on their faces by a simple video of Bin ladin alive with a current newspaper etc...
I don't like most news networks or politicians, but I think this is for real." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I am going to agree with Don and the others here,it is sad that when a country like America goes to help another it doesn't take long before said country is regarded as the enemy. I personally don't think one death is going to stop to much terrorism and yes,how can somebody strap bombs to themselves to not only kill themselves but other innocent people in the name of religion.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

While the guys who executed the mission deserve our praise, so do those who did the hard work of gathering the intelligence that led to this day. We, as a society, are so wrapped up in the short term we miss the big picture so often. The first info that eventually led to confirmation that UBL was in that compound began in 2003 in info gathered by "unpopular" techniques. I think it ironic that many of the politicians taking credit for this recent action are the same ones instrumental in "killing" the interogation unit that gathered the needed info. Rejoice in winning this "battle", but the war ain't over.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
