Yep Boxers are like that Slepper63.
The wife and I have had nothing but Boxers for the last 25 years.
We have been breeding them now for the last 4 years.
It's always sad when you lose one.
We had to put one down two years ago because he was suffering,
It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
Sorry for your loss, Man.

I'm really sad to hear of your loss. We have only had our new pup a couple weeks now and I know how we would feel if something happened to her even in this short a time. Wait a few weeks then go see if another will adopt you to help ease the acheDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Thank you all for your condolences. I appreciate them I really do. I know as time passes the pain will not be as bad. He will forever be in our hearts. We also have another dog and he is helping us get through. He too was sad the last couple days before his big brother passed, but is now eating again and getting back to his crazy self.

You made a very interesting comment and one that each of us feels. You said your dog was the best in the world, and I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I look at the great pets we have had over the years and wonder how we got so lucky to own that particular animal. Each one has it's own unique personality, and I know for a fact they have a sense of humor. They do the funniest things and then give you this look that says "How did you like THAT one!"
I swore after losing Sniffy and Scooter that I never wanted another pet......it is just too hard when they pass, but Lucky popped into our lives and between him and Dan's cat Chewy they really have helped in the healing process. There isn't an hour of the day when they don't have me laughing over something they do. I wouldn't say everyone should get a new pet to try to replace the one you lost, but they really do help you start to laugh again.
The other thing is , by taking an animal in, we save a little life and give it a good home. We are still feeding all the stray cats at the shop every night, and sometimes one will just stop coming around. You never find out what happened to them, and it worries you. The pets we give a loving home to have no idea how good they have it.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I've gone thru it myself many times and it never gets any easier. My wife and I don't have any children so animals take their place. He's in heaven now with no pain.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
