Yeah-Richard got ticked off on a congrads bump the day before in the truck race and had him in a head lock throwing punches.Richard was ban from track side for the Sprint race until NASCAR decides what to do.I think NASCAR needs to make a example and ban a race team for say a month to tell anyone it isn't the WWF and they would not put up with it.Good Bye

Let's see............Childress' first name is Richard, right? Headline should be "Dick punches dickhead".Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Well, Richard Childress owned the truck Kyle Busch banged on, as well as the Kevin Harvick car that Kyle ran into the pit wall at Talladega after that race... Maybe he's just tired of seeing his equipment torn up after a race.... Haven't really heard Childress' side of the story, as usual Kyle is running his mouth to anybody who'll listen. Busch is a good racer, but his "people skills" still need some refining, who knows what was said before Childress put him in a headlock and started pounding on him???
Unfortunately, even in racing the media has to jump in and put their twist on stuff and turn non-issues into issues.... If you've never seen a car owner take to punching on a driver after a race, I would suggest you haven't been around circle tracks much when the racing is over. To paraphrase one of the announcers on Sunday, when NASCAR said "Have at it, boys.", maybe they should have added, "Just look out for the men who own the cars".....
IMO if Kyle wants to keep banging on cars all over the race track like the "good old days", he'd probably better be ready to settle for some of the results that go with crashing other people's cars....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Childress told that punk ass b***h Kyle that there would be consequences the next time he messed with RCR equipment. This was evidently the consequence. C'mon guys, this is NASCAR, not Formula 1. I just loved the mealy mouthed interview Busch gave at Kansas. Maybe you can tell I'm not a Busch brothers fan.Hans
If you can't use me as a good example, then use me as a horrible warning.

You can pair this down to it's simplest form but the realty these are multi sponsors that support multi million dollar races and racing operations. It is for that fact alone those sponsors can dictate how that image is portrayed.RC surely has been in the business long enough to know those days of a sandy beach racing have long passed and how his actions put sponsorships at risk.It is because of it being a multi billion dollar business that NASCAR needs to show those sponsors no tolerance policy. We very well might have a image in our mind of what NASCAR is,but again the truth is something quite different.Car owners can't be involved it stuff like this.Hummm-now if RC got one of his tire changers to do it for him................LOLGood Bye

Wingman has it right. RC warned Kyle after Talladega, and Kyle elected to bash the rookie after the race here in KS. RC had no choice but to follow through and teach the brat a lesson, and he went to the garage preparing for action. I believe that if you poll the fans you will find that they support RC and his actions vs Kyle. Sponsors follow the fan reaction - RC is liable to get a bonus for the KS race, even if NASCAR gives him a token slap on the wrist.Roger

I couldn't even watch the race and commentary about that RC - Rowdy mayhem. The local Fox station had a telethon pre empting NA$CAR. I would NOT have wanted to have been an operator at WXXA yesterday between 12 and 2. Would not have been nice. They had all winter to do those things that maybe 19 people watch, all relatives of the participants vs thousands that watch NA$CARDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

From what I saw on Nascar.com, chrildress was fined 150K and put on probation until the end of the year.
What a bunch of crap. They should have paid him 150K just to knock some sense in that little jerk.Bug

ONLY $150,000? I'll bet that there are at least 150,000 fans that would pay $1 each to see Mr. Childress kick that whiner's butt again......Apparently charm school didnt help Kyle B quite as much as it helped his brother.

Put me down for $10.00!!! Eventually that kid is going to have to learn that you can't be pushin' and shovin' all the time on the track, then run and hide in your motorhome when someone takes offense to your actions!!! This crap of bangin' on somebody's car AFTER the checkers is wrong, don't care who does it!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
