Australian V-8 Supercars in the USA !!!!!!
Great news! The new track near Austin, Tx. announced that they will be running the Australian V-8 Supercar Series at the new track beginning 2013!!! For those who have watched these guys, we know there is some good racing coming, for those who haven't seen this series, you're in for a thrill!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

F1 is boring high pitch scream compared to the V8's of the Ford and Holden GM Aussie cars, and yes you guys are in for some excellent racing.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Yes, nice road coarse with some elevation changes, tight turns and big turns so it should be a good track for the Supercars!!! Think it was about 4 or 5 years ago Speed ran the whole Supercar Series on the tube! Great racing, I'm really hoping it will catch on in this country like it has in Australia! The best part of it for me is the rules require leaving the body relatively stock--if the factory made it as a four door sedan, that's what it gets raced as!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Yes Dave..Its a good formula..I would like to see a bit more than Ford versus Holden in it though, like it used to be,,before Jim Richards came along in a Nissan Skyline Godzilla 4wd coupe,,and the Late Tom Walkinshaw, who showed the Aussies how to get a little more out of their Commodores, back in the mid 80s..In fact, rumor has it,that there are going to be a few changes...may be a good thing, may not be..Wait and see I suppose..
Did you see the V8 ute series as well??Ford and Holden utes thrashing it out on the track...quite awesome as well..Micah 6:8

Watched some of the Ute races, not as good of coverage as the Supercars though...
A US version of the Supercar would be kewl, maybe a Caddilac CTSV coupe chasing an LS-6 powered Monte Carlo and both of them trying to run down that Shelby that's half a lap ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The racing itself reminds me of the old Trans Am Series, look at some of the showroom race cars that came out of that series!!!! and maybe even a US manufacturer making a progressive shifter for a 6 speed that doesn't cost 2 arms and half a leg!!!!
My first ever race job was with an IMSA GT-U team when it was Mustang's, Camaro's, and Firebirds---sure would like to see something like that series again!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I dont know what your new Chevs and Pontiacs look like, but I think they are based on the Holden body..or,at least, some of them..The Monaro was only made for a short time, that is,in the present shape,,and I think it is the same basic body that you guys have up there..I know the Cadillac is based on the Holden body shell, cos NZ ended up with a bunch of them here,RHD,which the local dealers sold off,,real quick..If the Aussie supercars are a regular thing up there,,its bound to rub off somewhere,,so both countries will get a lot out of it,,plus,a few of our young rising stars can get a shoe in the door,too..I would like to see young Shane van Gisbergen try out in NASCAR,,as well as race in this series up there as well as down here..Last edited by lamin8r; 07-05-2011 at 12:52 AM.

I for one am looking forward to an alternative to the NA$CAR racing which is starting to really get boring. Complaints like The track isn't smooth enough. There isn't enough grip. Heck, NA$CAR used to mix dirt and paved tracks on the schedule (65 or so races/year). Some of the drivers are starting to whine like the F1 crew - 'he bumped me', 'he blocked me' (think Tony Stewart at Fontana----huh?) and so on. When we have it on TV, I do try to catch it - the only 'problem' is that we don't have enough to know the drivers. YetDave W
