Rugby World Cup..
I dont know if any of you guys are interested in rugby, but down here, its a part of our lives[so I am told] As New Zealand is hosting the world cup this year,we found out a few months ago, that our little town of Inglewood,is hosting the American team, and one other team,,not sure who..But those teams will be staying out here, and doing their training here,at the local park/rugby field..
As we have a reasonably strong car scene in the Taranaki area, the Inglewood Business Association is going to have a parade[?]/display of American cars/hot rods/customs in Inglewood during that period..More information as we hear of it..Micah 6:8
If we aren't supposed to have midnight snacks,,,WHY is there a light in the refrigerator???

If we are at our oldest son's place, the game of choice above any other is Rugby. In high school, he played football (American style) all four years, linebacker; but in college, he was not big enough to make the team, so he took up Rugby, and nothing has been the same since. I watch once in a while if I trip over a game on the telly, but I still have a bit of a time figuring out just what the play is. If I had gotten close to it when I was a pup, I probably would have liked it, too, as I sort of had that Rugby attitude.
On another note: Inglewood. I was born in Inglewood - California, that is. Nowadays, it is called "South Central L. A.", a pretty un-nice section of the city. But in 1942, it was "lily white", the up and coming suburban bedroom community. My how things change.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.

Yeah I can hear you on that Rrum's and it is like me watching grid iron,it appears like a line of poofters all lined up heavierly padded to make them look bigger attacking the opposite team of poof's ,the ball get squirted out the back for someone to throw forward for a team mate who has sprinted forward to catch and to do a touchdown but where the ball doesn't get to touch the ground. Yeah right,I will watch rugby anytime thanks.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Nah,34-40,,the real deal..Rugby is huge in the southern hemisphere, and in Britain..and now in many other northern hemisphere countries..In fact Japan, among others, are buying kiwi rugby players for a season or three, including coaching positions..
Rrumbler,,Your American style football has always baffled me too,,so we are even on that score..I knew there was an Inglewood in Ca.,but never knew what sorta town it was,,our little town of about 6000 people is a farming community,as is all of Taranaki province,,but we have natural gas and oil here as well..
canadianal,,it is a tough game, second only to rugby league..which,I think is harder again..Its good to see other countries getting womens teams together,,just watch out for our womens team..I think its made up of wives and girlfriends of All Blacks, and they are almost un stoppable..Micah 6:8

Our NZ day went quite well,on Saturday,,despite some rain..The Eagles match on Sunday was quite a good one,,despite losing to the Irish team,,22-10..And then, last night met up with most of them at our premium burger joint..BURGER FUEL..(which,incidentally,has stores in the Persian Gulf)and some of the nicest burgers you will find ANYWHERE...Micah 6:8
