Good morning, Dave,
We are back home after being out of the country for three weeks and are very happy that your girls are now in a safe, secure and loving place. We were able to have access to a computer frequently enough to follow your situation pretty well and believe me, our thoughts were about you and the girls every day.
A strange thing happened. My wife, who is totally uninterested in cars (to her a car is nothing but an expensive necessity), checked the CHR postings every time she got a chance looking for word on the girls.
If you are still pondering a move to Texas, all I can say is DON'T DO IT NOW! We are starting our 39th straight day of temperatures over 100 degrees here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I'm not talking about just a little over a hundred. We are lookin' at 108 to 110 this afternoon.
I can't wait.

Thanks for your concern, gang!!!
Overall, the girls are doing great! Lexi still has an issue with a spot in one eye and will be having an MRI this month sometime--still waiting for the appointment date. The last Dr. we had her too couldn't guarantee that it was anything at all, but certainly something we are going to have checked out!!! Lisha will be starting a Head Start program next week! A great opportunity for her to get caught up on learning and a great help with her socializing. Her and Grandma went there today for an open house and a chance for Lisha to check the place out, meet her teachers and some of the other kids and now she is very excited about going to school like the "big kids"!!!!!
We did our final court appearance and AJ (Dad) was awarded custody of the kids--for now they're still staying here as "Dad" just started a new job and doesn't have a big enough apartment or the means to take care of them.....That's what Grandpa and Grandma are for!!!!! Everything is still very much up in the air, but for now they're probably best right here.... Besides, Grandpa enjoys the babysitting time!!!!'
A big thank you to all for your concern, prayers, and your gifts!!!! I will get some current pics of the girls and put them on CHR. Both girls have gained some weight and are getting stronger every day!!!! They have a house full of toys and stuffed animals and a well equipped sandbox in the backyard!!!! Neither girl had spent any time playing outside, so everything is new to them and they're having a blast!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave it's great to hear the girls are doing good. As you said, that's what grandparents are for. Enjoy your time with them it's precious.
"..... a well equipped sandbox in the backyard!!!! ......"
If you're grandaughters are like mine, getting them ut of the sand box is the real challenge....give them a cup to make castles out of and they could live there. I've got to admit I get a chuckle when my grandaughter hugs Grandma after she has been making sand angels.Last edited by Mike P; 09-02-2011 at 02:59 AM.

Glad to here the girls are adjusting well to their new life. Dave, it's great to see good people doing good things. You know what you and your wife are doing is going way way beyond just your family. A lot of people are seeing this and maybe going out & doing a good thing themselves. Makes me feel good every time I visit this thread."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
