Happy Friday!!!!!!
Haven't done this thread for awhile!!!! Not much here, a bit of work on the Plymouth, a bit more on my pickup, and a bunch of time playing with Lexi and Lisha who are both progressing remarkably well!!!!
Whatcha got planned for the weekend???? If you make it to a show or run, hope you bring back some pics for those of us who (never) seem to have our own stuff done to go anywhere in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Happy Friday! This dog day heat is a challenge! My wife is playing Super Grandma, helping out with the new granddaughter born June 8 , and new twin grandsons born June 17th so she's gone more than she's here lately! Getting some deck rail sections fabbed up for welding this morning, been playing with the EFI tuning a bit, and making excuses to stay off the mower in the heat May make a solo run in to a weekly Friday Cruise night this evening, and we're thinking of driving over to Belton (SE of the KC Metro) tomorrow for their monthly Main Street Cruise depending on the heat. Just not a lot of fun walking around in the late afternoon sun as hot as it isRoger

Glad to see you so chipper, Dave. Funny how things can change from being so bad one week and the next week the sun is shining.
Our plans for today are that Dan is going to start welding up the frame for my rpu project. (Yaaaaaaay !) I has been clamped to the welding table since about January and because there is nothing we can do on Dan's car until the motor is done, we now have some time to work on mine. It has been so brutally hot that we haven't much felt like going to the shop during the day, but we're going to force ourselves to get some work done on it.
I need to wash and detail my 27 too. It has been sitting uncovered in the shop and is filthy. The tank is low so maybe I'll take it out and fill it up and charge the battery a little. Now that we are into the rainy season you can never count on being able to drive it and not come back drenched, which is why it hasn't been driven much lately.

Like so many others, it's just to hot to try and do anything on the car or the yard! I'll stay inside with the air conditioning on high!

Well it looks like the Pacific Northwest is lucky (for a change) and we're going to have mile 70-80 degrees and no rain. Family reunion on the wife's side up in Enumclaw Washington so we've got a bit of a road trip with the MIL and Joanie's sister - should be good."Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. We're getting Mid-West weather out here right now, upper 80s, overcast, occasional rain, and high humidity.
I'll probably do a little more on the trans tunnel for the 37 and spend Sunday playing with the grandkids.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

I bought a multi-function switch (turns, fogs, flashers, headlites) for the Grand Cherokee from Rock Auto, and it was OEM quality, direct replacement. Their customer service is very good, and they stand behind their stuff, from what I have seen and heard. Rock was about 40% lower than my local box auto store, and about 60-70% lower than dealer prices, and their shipping for the switch was amazing, in the range of US$2.50 for USPS priority mail. Got the part in less than a week. I'll use them again.Roger

Sounds like a perfect excuse to swing by the Puyallup Fair Grounds and take in the GG event. The weather today was outstanding and there was quite a turnout. When I left at 6:30 some were already lining up for entry tomorrow morning. Think it's gonna be a big crowd tomorrow.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Thanks for that,Roger..I have another option, since earlier this afternoon,,so it probably wont happen now..An engineer friend is going to sort this little issue for me,,at a reasonable price..so its sorted, but I will keep them on my list, for other bits and pieces..I have a little tidy up to do on the F100,and it will be sold,so we can inject the funds into Lyndas Customline, which has been sitting dormant..Micah 6:8

Well Dave I have been working on cars, just not rods! Glad the girls are doing well!
Our 2003 Highlander is getting up there in mileage so it's developed a few annoying issues. I spent most of yesterday surfing the net to figure out how to fix to problems. 1) the driver's side parking light is out, not a big deal, until you try to figure out how to access it. It involves removing the grill and part of the bumper assembly in order to get the headlight assembly out far enough to get to the light socket. They make replacing the headlamp a 2 second job, but replacing the 1157 bulb a nightmare. I still haven't figured out how to get the white plastic clamps to release, I love these sophisticated quick releases that don't make sense until you break one! Problem #2 is going after the mysterious heat flashes thru the a/c in hot weather. You'll be driving and suddenly you have full heat blowing out the a/c vents. After some research this is quite common and apparently a factory design flaw. The dealer wanted 700-1000k for the heater/cooling assembly and 500 to install it. A guy online, shows step by step how to get the electronic assembly out of the car, take it apart and solder the circuit board where the wires pull out, that causes this problem. I guess Toyota only replaces the assembly, not fixes them. This guys link has 7 pages of replies thanking him for this , so Monday/Tuesday(days off) I'll work on fixing it if this is the case once I get it apart.
I got a downloaded copy of the factory service manual, and can't believe the detail they go into on fixing electronics, but lack of detail on assembly and disassembly!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
Thank you Roger. .
