This one Don, It lets you shut it but everytime you change a page it expands for a few seconds and then shuts again, I find it very annoying and wanted to know if it could be switched off someway.

Yes it is a right pain in the butt eh Steve and when you click on it, it takes forever to decide if it will disappear.

Odd.. I have shut off that side window a long time ago and it has never come back! Only if I log off will the left side "window" re-appear. Once I log on, the left window goes away!

What computer OS are you using and what browser (make, model, version) are you using?

I have no problem like that.

If you are using Firefox, which the screen shot appears to be, try closing some of those dratted tool bars under the "View" drop down. I only have the Menu and Navigation toolbars open. Every time Mozilla comes out with a major update, those tool bars reappear (same in IE)
