It wasn't me, ref "HAMB roast"
A moderator posts on a thread I started, assumes and states that I got banned, then closes the thread keeping me from responding. Well, the post wasn't about me, but I'm sure there is a rule here about reviving a closed post, so I will save you the trouble of banning me from this forum, I'll just leave.
The final post before closure......

I'm out of your hair, and to think a friend recommended this site to me.Bob

Robert,
That particular type of thread leads to bad blood between forum members and just is not allowed here.
We do not start or participate in forum wars as it brings the forum as a whole down.
This is not the hamb, this is not hotrodders, this is CHR.
No need to ban you, just ask that you learn that that type of post/thread is not allowed here for those reasons.
Either you are mature enough to understand,or you are not. That is a choice only you can make.
Enough said.

You may not have been banned on that forum, but you sure were chastised for that video you posted where youi thought it was cool to drive over 100 mph through traffic, passing people on blind curves. I was one of the people who posted that I thought you were recklessly endangering other motorists on the road, and it presented a bad image of hot rodders, in general.

Dam Bob, You are going to leave here because of a moderator closing a thread that you started that does not abide by the forum rules? I thought you would have thicker skin than that. I mean, you do have your own forum. I would guess you have to moderate it yourself don't you?
Oh well.Bug

I might lurk for awhile longer, but I'm hard pressed to build any history here due to the fact that this site's mods really jump the gun. Also some official took the liberty to change my sig.
On my forum I have the Founder, me, one administrator and one mod. The forum is set up so that all members have the ability to block to their PC any other member they deem obnoxious. I wasn't going to even start a forum if it couldn't be run in a democratic fashion. Seems to work fine, nobody has been warned or banned. No threads have been closed, and the only action taken to date was the removal of a post that the author of the post asked for its removal after the time frame had passed that he could remove it.
I always get along with the members of these automotive forums, but the so called "officials" that over step a democratic solution for their own ego does leave a sour taste for me.Bob

Bob-hang in here.Trust in the fact your fellow members give you a fair shake and you know you don't really know Brent or Bill that well, but I suggest they are pretty even handed in dealing with stuff.
As a old Admin on a huge site,I wanted to point out that almost all sites have a agreement you sign when you join.In that agreement includes once you post info, that isn't your property any longer. The thankless job of a Admin or Mod is to "try" balance between free speech to encourage postings and fun and forum rules in place for good reason.Sorry Bob-I don't agree with you about closing the thread.I do think to post about another forum's issues in my experiences has never lead to a good outcome.I do think here it is refreshing to find so many overall that get along so well and are so tight.I don't know why,if it is the type of members here,or the topics we cover,or the times management gets involves with a correction. But I want to again remind you the bottom line is there isn't a open free speech forum anywhere with the sign on agreement.Once posted it belongs to the forum owners/management to do with it as they choose. And is a benefit in some small way to all.
So Bob-how's the gas mileage going on the rod.Yeah-yeah,I'm changing the topic to get ya to start another post moving forward bud.Good Bye

Don't know what they removed from your signiture but if it was a link to your forum, I believe that is not allowed unless you are a paid advertiser.
I do think that you still can fit in here unless your head gets too big.
BTW, I am the one that told you about this place. Terry @ CC.Bug

1Gary,
Still only broke 30 mpg once, lot of mid to high 20's.
Bug/Terry,
Your right Mate, should give it another go. Shot up to Reno today on a whim to catch the end of Hot August Nights, and who do I run into, also there on a whim? Why it is the Krazy Kiwi, Gordon Tronson, builder of Double Trouble. This guy can show up at a 5 star event un-annouced, and the welcome mat is always laid out for him. This time a major vendor gave him space and even put DT to bed at night inside his tent so Gordon could party the night away without concern for his 1,000 hp marqurita blender.

Gordon wasn't the only one getting VIP treatment. I took my 92 year old Dad (he has done 3 Hot August Nights) and Peter of ARTROD let my V into the vendors area because the handicap parking was full. Peter makes Track-Ts and old school, almost rat rods.
Thanks again Peter.

Robert,
I removed the link in your sig, as already stated above,it is against the TOS you agreed to when you signed up. Same goes for the shut down of the other thread, it is nothing personal, and believe me, there is no emotions in why it is done. We just don't like the drama threads like that bring to CHR,nothing more, nothing less. There are links at the top of some of the main threads marked "RESPECT,RESPECT,RESPECT", these spell out the do's and don't and the general mindset of this forum. Again, as a moderator, I have to walk that fine tightrope, staying neutral at all times. Since you own and administrate your own site, you have the basic understanding of what it takes on a smaller scale, so you can relate. Again, nothing personal, just this forums policies (90% in writing, not subjective to the whim of an admin/moderator like on other sites). There are those who may say otherwise, but they, not us, are the ones playing self serving mind games. Again, your free choice whether to stay or go. Either way I wish you well.
Sincerely,
Bill S.
