"Special" Flavoring
So a nephew had a wedding a couple of months back, and we brought home a sheet cake box with about three or four dozen cupcakes that were left over from the reception, putting them in the "overflow refrigerator" (read beer fridge ) in the garage, without taking any special pains to seal the box - not going to be there long term. We had Minnesota relatives visiting over the weekend, and Sunday my wife got the cupcakes out to be thawed for dessert, since the nephew and his bride were coming to dinner, too. Several people had cupcakes, saying nothing, but when my gearhead son bit into one he immediately realized that the cake and frosting had absorbed heavy exhaust fumes from all of the EFI tuning I've done over the past month or so in the garage, often with prevailing breezes pushing the exhaust into the room vs it going outside He mentioned it to me, so I had to try one to verify his assessment - nastiest tasting cupcake I have ever had in all of my years!! So bad I held a match near the icing to see if it might ignite!! Seems that refrigerators exchange the air on a regular basis to keep from getting stale, and the overly rich fumes from my attempts to solve a starting problem were enough to make a new Flavor of the Month for cupcakes.... I'll hear about this one for years!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
