So many old cars around here!!!
There are so many old cars around here.
I need to start carrying my camera with me.
Had a guy ask me yesterday if I would be interested in a old chevy Impala.
I think my brother is going to get it.
Started talking with another guy on the street and he has a GTX Gallixy or something like that, then he has old 70 cougar with a 429 in it and a couple other old Fords.
You drive thru my neighborhood and you see cars from the 70's clear back to the 20's.
Most have not been restored but are in good shape, it's just crazy.
There is a old 50's chrysler station wagon a couple miles from me for sale and the body looks perfect and has mag wheels on it. I never seen this kind of stuff in Florida.
If you guys are looking for anything let me know and I will keep my eye's open.

Oh sure, you leave us stuck back here with 100 degree temps, 200% humidity, no good old cars laying around, and move to a place where there is old tin on every corner ! Thanks a lot !!!!!
You are living my dream, Kurt. It must be so much fun finding all those old cars that are in such good condition, compared to what we see down here. We want pictures !

HE! HE! HE! I hear ya Don.
I'll go out this afternoon and snap some for you guys.
I have been in and out all morning and it's only about 70 degree with almost no humidity.
I've got no bug's trying to fly off with my pets or trying to eat me, it's beautiful.
The wife and I were cruzing around yesterday afternoonat about 3pm and didn't
have to run the A/C or anything. We are in heaven.
Anyway I'll get some photo's and post them this afternoon Don.

I want that red Ford pickup, BAD !! I love that style. It looks ready to drive.
Kurt, one time years ago I flew into Lawton Oklahoma on business and it was like your pictures, old cars in terrific shape everywhere. One guy at a company I was visiting had a 50 Buick for sale for $ 600 and it was nice. I actually considered trading in my plane ticket and buying it, but I could just see me driving an unknown car back to Pennsylvania and getting broken down in the middle of the trip somewhere.
You must be in old car heaven out there.

I did that with the Ranchero, broke down in Texas.
I'll have to go out tomarrow and get some other photo's.
I had to replace my belt tensioner on the suburban today.
Heard a belt sqweal so I opened the hood and the pully hed
come apart and the belt was ridding on the bolt, it got me home.
So I spent the day replacing belts and checking other stuff.

A few years back I had posted up some pics from the Vegas area of cars parked around, but can't find the thread anymore so here's a repost of some. I don't think it's unique to that area of the country, more likely the type of climate. I recall a guy in Oklahoma on here who posted up some examples as well. Keep posting Kurt. I'd post more but I really don't like the new system.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Years ago a couple that we were friends with came to visit Pennsylvania from their home in California. The first thing she said was " Where are all the old cars? I don't see any on the road like at home."
I would have a very hard time living in a place like you, Kurt. My entire day would be spent driving the back roads trying to see all the old stuff I could find.

There is 40 Coupe in a yard next to 95 in Beatty. Has a "Not For Sale" sign in the window. Well move it so we can't see it.
In Goldfield there are at least 2 old cars on every block.Livin' on Route 66

I'll tell you guys what, just about eveyone out here is in a bad way right now.
I bet alot of these can be picked up for next to nothing.
There is a beautiful grand torino on the way in to town that just sits in this guys back yard.
I have not seen it moved yet, I would like to get my hands on something like that.
Then they hold the car shows out here at the chicken ranches.
My question was why? and the guys said they are the only ones out here with enough parking.
Ya right, HE! HE! HE! I think someone is getting paid off, under the table if you know what I mean.

yeah theres alot up here in my area too, its about 50/50 on if its in good enough condition to make it worth stopping, just gotta know where to look. i always like taking them ol back roads out in the middle of nowhere and just keep the eyes peeled. most people seem to be open to talking about getting rid of their lawn art. some still hang onto the notion that they'll get around to it one day even after sitting for 10 years or more.
Thank you Roger. .
