British TV Automotive Tour of America - suggestions wanted!

I'm working on a new British TV show which involves two car-crazy celebrities touring every state in America, driving a different vehicle across each state. We're looking for any suggestions people might have for what they can do and drive.

The idea is that the vehicle or vehicles they drive will somehow be relevant to that state, and supplied by someone from that state who will ride with them. They'll then have some sort of race, challenge or adventure related to the car they're in. We want them to drive some of the most amazing vehicles in America, explore American car culture and have some crazy times!

An example could maybe be in Utah driving a 1966 Thunderbird convertible and visiting Dead Horse Point (like in the movie Thelma and Louise).

Another example could be going across North Carolina in a road legal race car with a NASCAR driver, then compete with each other to get the best lap time at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Or maybe crossing New Mexico on dirt tracks racing dune buggies...

So, anyone got any suggestions about what cars they should drive, where they should go, who should they meet and what they should do? The more crazy and fun the better! Is there a State in the US that is most famous for Hot Rods?

If you have the time to send me any ideas I'd appreciate it. I can be reached at the following e-mail address: jonathan.davenport@darlowsmithson.com

The availability of ideas, along with the media interaction really depends on just who those "two car-crazy celebrities" are going to be. After all, your going to need to play off their individual personalities in order to make this work.

So, with that said, and to be quite blunt, just who are those "two car-crazy celebrities" going to be?

And what's your budget for compensation to the owners of these classic vehicles you want them to "supply", and to repair any damages to those vehicles? Hard for me to imagine anyone wanting to watch their car get abused by a "car-crazy celebrity", brit or not.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

I think most people would wonder WIIFM. (What's in it for me?) It would take some serious compensation to entice a car owner to trapse all over the State with a couple of "Crazies", even if they had the time and car to do it in.

Sounds not too appealing to me, personally. I am not that interested in being on TV anyway.

Chances are it would be aired in Britan so we wouldn't see it anyway...They should make a film of Brits driving there cars around and show that here. From what I've seen they are to far behind in building american cars.
