    I guess the one good thing is the sellers are making a little more than they used to. I know ebay hits them with a stiff charge depending on how the add is set up.

    I always bid the max I am willing to pay with a few seconds left until close. If your proxy bid is higher than mine, you win. If mine is higher, I win. Getting caught up in bid wars with John Q. Public is folly. I learned long ago to fall in love with the deal, not the item.

    I do watch for Buy It Now's with close to reasonable prices. I picked up the last piece of stainless trim I needed for the nose of the Plymouth, already restored, for $40 BIN. I couldn't click it fast enough.
