As far as the first post of the thread being the first post on each page....It is a feature that is quite useful, but I can see how this could cause some confusion. The benefit is that no matter which page you're on in a thread you'll be able to quickly see the context of the discussion.

Let me know if you think I should disable it or not.

    Brent,
I don't really see much value added, but I think the bigger problem is that the new "feature" surprised everyone and created some confusion. A brief thread from you or Bill explaining that a new feature had been added, asking for feedback would have eliminated the whole thing, IMO.

Was this caused by the "Garage"? Is this happening to you guys also?
That has been my default view since the site was started at least that is how mine has been set up since this forum went active.......

However, under your profile,on the left (your alternate right ) side is a link marked "General Settings", click it, then scroll down to "Thread Display Options", click on the first drop down and you can choose which way you want to view the threads.

So simple, even the most jaded of naysayers (no,not you) can do it with ease

Yeah Bill, but if I have General Settings set to "Display Oldest First" (to put them in chronological order) now I get the first post out of sequence, followed by the newest addition. That is, unless I use Randy's (TechnoWizard's) "blue dot" tip to go straight to the newest information. Now if we can get that blue dot to be an oval..... BTW, Brent acknowledged that he changed the way things display, (reply #17 above, and in his PM reply to me he said that he had just made the change in the past few days).
