I'm done for the season......
Well it comes THAT time once again for me ........
That THING we all hate to have done, but when they tell you it's for your health you kinda start listening. I'm coming up on my 3rd surgery this year & hope it fixes me up so I can continue to work on my project. Had a total (R) knee replacement in March, my right shoulder rebuilt in Sept and come this Monday(Dec 5th) I go in to have my right clavicle (collar bone) ball/socket & part of the 1st rib removed at the sternum. It seems sometime in the past I got an infection in the joint & it ate it out
I don't care for the pain or the noise of the joint popping in & out of socket & the doc seem to think after all the tests(no cancer) he ran that it would be better if it was removed from it's "Host", ME!!!!!!!!
They say it'll take about 1.5-2hrs to do & I should be home a 2-3days later. IF there is any bright side to it all, at least the doctor said he could go around one of my favorite tattoo's & if he couldn't he would stitch it up nicely for me.

Hope the surgery goes without a hitch, Joe, and that it can be the last one for a long, long time with a very quick recovery.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Dave this will be surgery #25.
The big ones are....
Lost a kidney in 1965 & died on the table.
Had a couple follow up surgeries after that to fix me.
Had 8 knee surgeries on each knee & a couple of back surgeries before the below.
Fused w/2 rods & 4 screws from C4 to C7
Fused w/2 rods, 6 screws & a metal cage around L4/5/S1
Total R Knee replaced(L still needs to be done)
R shoulder rebuilt....
and now this......................................
Thanks everyone, hopefully I will heal like I have in the past I should be way ahead of schedule in no time.
When they did my total knee I was walking w/out a walker, crutches or a cane by week 4.
I did NO real Physical Therapy other then what I did on my own.
The doc figured after all my surgeries on my knee's I should know what to do & I did.
On my shoulder at week 11 my PT guy said I was closer to week 20 on their rehab schedule.
So hopefully all will be good.

I have escaped from the hospital.
Doc knew I wanted to leave(on tuesday) & that everything could be done by a home medical care & myself so I got out today.
I can't complain to much as I sit here at home enjoying the fact I am out of the hospital once again.
Now mind you I have 2 drains, 6 long double stitches and 30 staples embedded in & through my chest but I am not in any pain & not doing any pain pills.
Only did 3 shots on the morphine pump the day of the surgery(Monday) & then told them to take it out Tuesday morning cause I didn't need it nor wanted it.
They ask if I was sure & I told them it didn't hurt, it's a little sore but truly don't hurt.
Won't be touching anything in the garage for a while but I'll be able to relax & let my body recuperate for an expanded amount of time.
later gators..joe
