Made the classic addition error! Oh well.......
    Math error on the first

The problem comes when you are at 4090 and add the last 10. For some reason some of us tend to go from 4090 to 5000 instead of 4100. Those that were born before calculators (OF's) and had to make change with a change tray or cash register that didn't do the calcs will usually get these kind of problems right.

Didn't read the second correctly - it's already a hole so no dirt is in it at this point

I got the 4100 no problem but must confess that initially I had 240 cu.ft. of dirt to deal with but that's because I had just dug the hole and hadn't moved the misplaced soil to it's new home yet. It has now been properly removed and I have an empty hole where 240 cu.ft. of earth once lived......

Let me add a couple more teasers to liven things up and get the brain working:

-- What mathematical symbol can be put between 5 and 9, to get a number bigger than 5 and smaller than 9?

-- Two boys wish to cross a river. The only way to get to the other side is by boat, but that boat can only take one boy at a time. The boat cannot return on its own, there are no ropes or similar tricks, yet both boys manage to cross using the boat.

    1. A decimal point, yielding 5.9
    2. Is this one rows the boat, and the other is in the water, holding on to the boat??
