The Dogs picked us.......
Meet Daisy & Lexi, as you know we had been looking at dogs at shelters & came across these two who were going to be given up. We went and visited them & unlike the 5 other dogs we had looked at Daisy & Lexi warmed right up to us like they had known us forever. We talked to the young couple who was having to give them up(a move & no animals allowed) and these young ladies was snorting all over us & sitting at our feet wanting attention. I walked them around w/out any problems & asked the lady if I could see if they would get in our our truck. They didn't think twice about jumping in our truck when asked and going for a ride to get their doggie stuff. They rode great on the way home (1hr) and was very excited to explore their new backyard. After a couple of hours of running a muck in the backyard & me sitting up their pens, they finally settled down in the new homes.
It's been about 9 months since we had to put (our last dog) Chloe down and during that time I had 3 surgeries & it was good not to have dogs under my feet. But the time had came to fill that void once again.
On the way home you couldn't wipe the smile off of Denise's face.

Best way to pair up with a pet or two...............let them pick.........................they're smarter about that kind of stuff.
I think they did well.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Bob that's how we have gotten all of our dogs, as pups we let them pick us.
We figured if they're crazy enough to want to come home w/us then they must wanna come along for the ride.
I can't really complain about any dogs w/have had, they've always been good dogs...joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Congrats Joe. We also have two rescue mutts. They are my constant companions. We had to put our dog down about 5 years ago, and after a month, I just couldn't take it and had to find another ! We went to several shelters and had the same experience of indifferent dogs, and some that were very aggressive. Pretzel(a.k.a. "the Nut") was the last one we saw, as they were closing up for the day. He was so bubbly and excited to meet us. He licked and played and wanted to be with us. I get choked up just thinking about it. He was on the euthanasia list because nobody wanted him(looks a little like he's a pit bull mix- which made it hard for people to want him). He's the nicest, sweetest, and most non aggressive dog we've ever had. Tiva came a year later, adopted by my wife. They bonded instantly. She took a long time to trust me, and was aggressive t first to Pretzel. Now they are best friends, and she lays in my lap. They do make your home whole again, don't they!

Thats how we ended up with one of our cats,,,the loopy one..We went to the SPCA and looked into a cage with about seven kittens in it,all about 6 weeks old..Some of them looked at us with indifference, some shrank away, and this little animal jumped on Lyndas finger and gnawed on it,then wanted to play..She came home with us two weeks later..Now eleven years old,,part abyssinian, the rest common garden variety tabby.. Very affectionate, and good clean habits..
Will probably get a dog from the same source, when the old queen has departed..Micah 6:8
