Not too bad for a guy who probably hasn't been in a Midget since last year at the Bowl!!!!!! If it's got 4 tires and an engine, Smoke can make it go fast!!! Sometimes when you watch him running, especially now with the #14, sure do see a lot of old AJ in him!!!!!

Good to see a couple of Kiwis up there racing..we have had Americans racing down here for more years than I can remember..Used to enjoy watching Sleepy Tripp..I forget half the names of the guys who used to come down here,,but I do remember their willingness to come down and mix it with us Kiwis..They were a good bunch...

Yeah, even Smoke went one winter when he was still driving for Bob East. Haudenshild and Ron Shuman went a number of times, so did Steve Kinser. It's rumored the Aussie cops are still looking for Carl Kinser if he ever makes a return to the country!!!! When Banzai Bruns was wrenching for Guy Forbrook on the #22 Penzoil car I had an opportunity to go for the winter, but the whole deal never got the $$$$$$ it needed so we all had to stay home. Bummer.

Now that I've got all the time in the world to go, I'm so dang old and crippled up nobody will even talk to me about a wrenchin' job down under for the winter!!!! oh well

Tell them you will come down as their gofer/water boy,Dave..
What did Kinser do to rattle the cops?? Driving a bit fast on the road??The Aussie cops have less of a sense of humor than most of our cops..

You'd have to know old Carl Kinser---one of the best sprint car wrenches ever, and for sure the hardest partying, bar room hell-raiser, go home with somebody else's wife kind of guy you ever met!!!! Think it was mid-eighties when he went for a couple of seasons, the stories that came back of Carl's exploits were hilarious---and the really good stories never left Australia.
