Made in America
ABC News report on Building Supplies Made in AMERICA. According to the report, if American builders would increase the use of US made materials by 5% it would create 220,000 jobs.

I know I'm saving the above link, I'd much rather pay the same or a little more keep my fellow countrymen at work then buying that Chinese garbage that in the past could & would make you sick or kill you by just being in the same room w/it(drywall)....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not.
Both are equally terrifying.

That is a very cool map, Joe. Like you I am saving it for future reference as there are many items on that list that surprised me for being 100% American made (or as nearly as possible). Thanks for posting it!!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

We've had an ongoing battle here in livestock and agriculture production areas trying to make it mandatory that all meat, poultry, fish, and produce carry a "Country of Origin" label..... Every time it gets brought up as an issue in Congress it gets knocked down, lost in committee, loaded up with riders that nobody in their right mind would vote for, or just totally ignored!!!!!
Like Joe and Rog, I think the majority of us when given a choice of 'Made in the USA' v 'Made elsewhere' would take the US product!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Good points Dave! Here in my little city, we used to be the largest producer of fish in the nation, now the gov't is so restrictive, perhaps to the point of over conservation, that now the fish served in this country is mostly harvested by foreign fleets! THEY can catch the same fish in our waters! OUR Fleets are forbidden to!
It's gone on all to long now and the EPA has become totally unapproachable and without any common sense.... It just seems "our" politicians want all the other countries to succeed while our citizens are set at a disadvantage from the start.

My daughter is buying her “first house”. It’s a real fixer and she’s putting in some sweat equity (read dad’s helping!) and I met with her electrician yesterday. Great guy running a small local shop trying to use all American made products! Not only did we have a talk about where Diane and I can help him and shave a few bucks, but I shared a bit with him about what I do and that from time-to-time, I need an electrician to move a circuit or install a new one for projects that my firm is managing. He’s local, uses American made products (where at all possible); drives an American made vehicle and I’ll look forward to throwing work his way when I can! I always want to support the local folks – especially the small business people as they’re busting their humps every day to make a buck and take care of their families.
I’m sick and tired about people carping about our economy and then selling the U.S. down the creek when they purchase imported products when there’s a choice to buy an American made product that’s just as good and many times better. I love to hot rod Chevy’s but my daily driver is a 2002 Expedition with 218K miles on the odometer and still running strong. It’s been a solid truck and I’ve built a very good relationship with a local dealer who sees me every 5K miles for oil change – 7 quarts, new filter, tops fluids, washes and vacuums the car for $29.95 and every fifth one’s free! Makes sense to me – okay, I’m off my soap box now..
