Good article, Bob. A couple of years back I got a copy of a BBC piece, "The Great Global Warming Swindle" The great global warming swindle - Full version - YouTube, which pointed out that the global warming concept was primarily an edict from government to science, much of it British based, to "prove" global warming. Their end point was that the temperature cycles of the atmosphere, and the earth itself, were driven by the oceans emitting CO2 - the amount of CO2 produced by man-made processes, including burning fossil fuels for power or other needs, is something less than 1% of the atmospheric CO2 that is emitted/absorbed by the oceans. The whole concept of man causing cycles in the earth's temperatures is ludicrous. The oceans are the giant thermal engine, and the cycles we are seeing now have been seen many times before, and will repeat again and again over time.Roger

Those are all good points Roger, and true. Between expose' like you linked, the "climate gate" email fiasco of a couple years ago, this recent "confession" by one of the myth's masters, and a number of other revelations, it appears that the evidence to confirm what a lot of us have believed is mounting. That's not the same as us winning the argument, the "man made climate change" advocates have a lot to lose and aren't going down easily. There's a large cadre of koolaid drinkers that don't want to be embarassed by admitting buying into the bilking, the "scientists" that need the gravy train of funding to continue to justify their existence, and of course the politicians who've seized on the opportunity to tighten the power noose.
Abundant, reasonably priced energy is freedom for the common man (even though some don't realize it). It opens up a world of free choice options that flies in the face of being controlled by the power hungry. That's why you see the sycophantic left repeatedly attacking energy producers that aren't in the pocket of the power mad: oil, coal, being the primary targets. By pursuing inefficient forms of energy production, and hobling as they can the more efficient ones, they are gradually manuvering us to a position of having to beg them for "help" in maintaining the lifestyle we'd like to continue to enjoy. Meanwhile the politically connected continue to fly around in private jets, live in large homes (often multiple), travel with large entourages that has the result of expanding their energy footprint greatly, all the while chastising we underlings.
Like I said above, hopefully enough thinking people will recognize all the elements of the equation and pull the reins in on this silly movement. And, of course, let's deal with the false choice that's always proffered. To recognize and revolt against the stupidity of "man made climate change" is not to advocate for rampant polluting...........to say it's an either/or is dishonest as well. We can keep our environment reasonably clean and well managed without enslaving the general population.............but that takes legitimate compromise which the power hungry can't tolerate.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

ALL IS LOST.
That's the bottom line. In my opinion, the attitude of the lawmakers and of the voters who put them in office bears no rememblance whatsoever to that of those folks when this country was formed. The system we're using will no longer work in the way it was intended to work because we have lost the integrity and the honor that was present in this country at the time of its formation. We have Congresspersons and Senators and other holders of office who line their pockets with money from this cause or that cause, at the expense of the taxpayers and I'm so sick of it that I could just puke.
There is little honesty, honor or integrity left in ANYONE in the world any more and I am of the opinion that it's getting close to time for our maker to shut the whole mess down and start over with a different species.
In this rant, I'm concentrating on Congress, not on the apathy, greed and ignorance of the voters as a whole. I'll rant later about those people.
I'll conclude with this story of the 5 monkeys. It explains why nothing gets done in Congress and why nothing will ever get done in Congress that goes against the mainstream of corruption and greed and why it will never change unless we clean out Congress every election and install ALL NEW monkeys.
THE FIVE MONKEYS
Begin with a cage containing five monkeys. In the cage, hang a banana on a string from the ceiling and put stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana.
As he gets part way up the stairs, spray all of the monkeys with cold water. After a while, another monkey will make an attempt with the same response -- all of the monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Keep this up for several days.
Turn off the cold water. As soon as another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will prevent it even though no cold water sprays on them.
Now, remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and goes to climb the stairs. To his horror, all of the other monkeys attack him and beat the snot out of him. After another attempt and another attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs, he will be assaulted.
Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace itth a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm.
Replace the third original monkey with a new one. The new one makes it to the stairs and is attacked as well. Two of the four monkeys that beat him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs, or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.
After replacing the fourth and fifth original monkeys, all the monkeys which have been sprayed with cold water have been replaced. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs.
So it is with Congress. If we don't replace ALL the monkeys at one time, we'll just continue getting the same results that we're getting by replacing them one at a time.
Each time a new Congressman or Senator joins the ranks of the Washington elite, his/her do-gooder thoughts and ideas of how he or she is going to make a difference for the voters who sent him/her to Washington are quashed by the older, established Congressmen and Senators (the original monkeys). "Go along to get along" and "Don't rock the boat" is the advice laid on the new members. They are threatened that if they don't go along with established practices, then all the other monkeys will turn on them and they'll never get anything done for their constituents. All the new monkeys are advised that they should "go along to get along" by the seasoned monkeys who have been there for a while.
This is why we desparately need to replace all 435 monkeys November 6, 2012.
RE-ELECT NOBODY. THROW ALL THE MONKEYS OUT AND LET'S START WITH A FRESH BUNCH OF MONKEYS.Last edited by techinspector1; 04-29-2012 at 01:12 PM.

I have been a skeptic of "climate change" since the late 50's when the "scientists" of that era proclaimed that we were entering the next ice age and the likelihood of ice stretching to the Ohio river was a distinct possibility. Folks of the era had more common sense or a least used common sense to dismiss those claims as pure bunk. As uncle bob so eloquently stated they have to "justify their existence" to be able to stay on the gravy train mostly at the expense of our tax dollars. Those who think that man at this time can have a major effect on the climate needs to have a come to Jesus meeting.Ken Thomas

I really shouldn't be posting on this thread. The thing is no one can be elected without the money for every kind of media. And the media is supposed to be the balance for the people.Neutral reporting.Follow the money.Just follow the money.Apart of a major change in politics would be free ad time to anyone who wants to run with a low limited dollar amount.

Occasionally we will be shown something that is clearly definitive. Here's a relatively short vid of a "debate" about why our current economy is barely growing for such a sustained period. Kudlow does only a fair job of moderating, I suspect because he values his friendship with both these guys and doesn't want to crush his buddy Jerod Bernstein who is a good guy who's out of touch. T.J. Rodgers is my kind of guy. A gutsy entrepreneur who doesn't disguise what he thinks.
Why I think this is such a telling exchange is you've got Bernstein, who lives his life safely ensconsed in his tax payer paid ivory tower, THEORIZING about how a functional economy works vs. Rodgers who ACTUALLY takes risks and creates businesses meeting the needs of his fellow man, and employs REAL people in those jobs that serve the demands of their fellow man. Yet Bernstein will argue against reality in defense of his utopian beliefs. A classic battle of intentions vs. actual outcomes.

Ain't that the truth. Know several families with kids living in garage conversions! Rediculous on oh so many levels, including kids to high and mighty to work jobs they believe are below them, another problem with why illegal aliens thrive here, and so many citizens live on government handouts!" Good grief!!!! Is there anything wrong in this country that Obama DIDN'T cause???? My memory isn't that great, but I believe unemployment has been a concern for more then 3 years???? No big gain in jobs this month, but the last few have shown a gradual improvement. Everything didn't go in the toilet quickly, the improvements are going to be very slow coming, too. I'm not defending him, just getting tired of all the complaining---and no one with a clue on what it's going to take to fix things, or who the people are who could fix things!!!!! Better hope a lot more people buy into the everything is Obama's fault, the polls sure don't look encouraging so far and every time Mr. Etch a Sketch opens his mouth it's apt to get worse!!!!! My vote is still with "none of the above".
Is it really right to blame illegals for "stealing" jobs when the blame should really fall on the business's who hire them??? At least they'll take a job when it's offered, any job...... Hard to fault a man because he is willing to work for less then others and do work that others won't do..... One of the big issues to running a successful business is keeping the labor costs and other overhead low, right???? My suggestion still holds, bring ALL our troops home from ALL the foreign countries they're in and not wanted, have them start rounding up and exporting illegals, then guard the borders to keep them out!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave I definately don't just blame Obama, all politicians are responsib;e, and we are too. As for illegals I don't blame them for seeking opportunities others choose to ignore. I blame us for making physical labor seem demeaning to the younger generations, so that they don't seek out work, instead of handouts. Half the pan handlers I see here are young , strong and lazy. I worked in the fields as a kid, weeding, picking fruit, tying vine. I was greatfull for the income, now days it's beneath most kids to really work. That is what I meant by my earlier post." I'm just fed up with all the negative in the country today!!!! When is the last time you heard a politician, or anyone for that matter, actually come out with a positive plan to improve things and bring the country back to it's former greatness?? It's like for the election this year, are only vote is for the person having the fewest negative checks by their name. Will either party even come out of their convention with a platform, a positive plan and a list of commitments they will actually try to achieve, or will both just come out loaded with a bunch of bs negative ads about the other guy???
I did all kinds of work thru my life, lots of people around here still do. Probably why our unemployment level is lower then the national number, but, wages around here are lousy!!! Maybe this is the way things should be, just take whatever job is offered and work for whatever wage is paid? It's a right-to-work state, so the boss can fire you for no reason at all and you have no recourse. If someone mentions "union" or any form of collective bargaining, they're shown the door in a heartbeat!!!! But, the unemployment number is low so I suppose that makes everything good?? If you're hoping all the Unions are abolished, and businesses are allowed to operate without any intervention, this is what you end up with.... So, be careful what you wish for!! Unemployment is down, but $12.00/hour is a good starting wage!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
