Better start learning to speak Chinese so I can understand what the new landlord is saying when he takes over, huh????

Some funny stuff in there. Obama bails out GM, GM pays the money back, Romney and his bud make a ton of money when GM rebounds.....

So, GM is going from paying Union wages in Detroit to slave labor in China??? Man, that should help the bottom line!!!!!!

GM didn't really pay "the money" back, they just transferred funds from one bailout account to another. They still owe a ton, AND we taxpayers hold millions of shares of GM stock that isn't worth what we paid for it. If campaign contributions are disclosed (after the election of course) we'll see where the real motivation was.........UAW contributions in the mega millions. Likely the UAW membership won't gain much from that, but the union bosses will do just fine for themselves.

The other idea that sort of snuck through that commentary was the part about the Chinese politicians living the high life on the money they take from their economy. That's the product of enormous government control. In this country we don't use outright language like "control", we call it regulation.................same result. Politicians criticize business managers for using corporate money for private/business jets, then go out and fly in the worlds most expensive helicopter to the airport where the worlds most expensive business jet is waiting, along with addition aircraft for the bloated entourage. All on the tax payer's dime............or is it borrowed money? Whatever, I'm not seeing a lot of difference

So anyway, GM is selling out to the Chinese because that's where the best profits are and politics goes on as usual. No matter who is elected I betcha we keep playing however many gazillion dollars per flying hour that this whole Air Force One Fiasco costs us!!!!

Business leaders have at least made their companies profitable enough that they can afford a private jet, but our government leaders get it as a "perk" of the job!!!!!! Friend of mine in Chicago had to give up the corporate jet and go back to flying commercial when the economy went in the toilet---why the heck can't the dang government learn to cut back and chop off the extra fat when times get lean???

A correction on what Uncle Bob mentioned about the world's most expensive helicopter, though....When the Marines pick up the Pres at the White House, there is actually THREE of these helicopters in the air at the same time playing some silly "shell game" so that nobody knows for sure which one the Pres is on!!!! From my experience on how the military maintains their aircraft I'd venture a guess that if they have 3 helicopters in the air, it must be a fleet of at least six helicopters we're paying for to make sure that 3 of them are always airworthy!!!! BTW, these choppers are also a bunch of outdated junk that must cost a gazillion to maintain, certainly nothing that the Marines use in their current aircraft inventory!!!!! I suppose the same thing holds true on the 747's that are used as Air Force one!!!! If the government would settle for flying the President around in a Blackhawk as he's transported to a normal sized business type Lear Jet it might even set some sort of precedent for the rest of the government to look for ways to cut their expenses!!!!!

Never have figured out why the taxpayers are the one's who are supposed to make all the sacrifices when the government continues to operate like there's no end to the money!!!!!!

All the reporters and aids couldn't fly with the pres. if they used a smaller jet. That would mean they would have to use comercial flights and the airlines would get more revenue (what an idea). Lets face it we live in a very wasteful country. In which no one is held acountable. Untill they get caught.

I don't have a lot of problem with my taxes going to help the poor who are citizens of this country, they need it. What I do have a problem with is my money going to support politicians who's only goal in life is to increase their own wealth at the taxpayers expense!!!! With no real limits on campaign contributions, we end up with the best government that money can buy...... How many people even heard of Buddy Roeman running as a Republican candidate??? Very few, less then 15%. Why? Because he ran on small contributions from voters and wouldn't accept or allow himself to be bought out by the "big money" that actually decides who the rest of us get stuck with trying to run things......

My vote still goes for none of the above!!!!!

It doesn't look like we're going to get it right this election year, by 2016 it might just be too late to even try to fix things......

Bob as a former 774 UAW member, the UAW learned yrs ago that collective bargaining with GM is over and it is a much better place for them to do collective bargaining with the U.S. government.

Getting away from the GM debacle ...... I ran across this while having my 2nd cuppa joe this morning. It's from Charles Krauthammer and makes for some perverse reading:

    "Barack Obama: Drone Warrior

By Charles Krauthammer, Published: May 31

A very strange story, that 6,000-word front-page New York Times piece on how, every Tuesday, Barack Obama shuffles “baseball cards” with the pictures and bios of suspected terrorists from around the world and chooses who shall die by drone strike. He even reserves for himself the decision of whether to proceed when the probability of killing family members or bystanders is significant.

The article could have been titled “Barack Obama: Drone Warrior.” Great detail on how Obama personally runs the assassination campaign. On-the-record quotes from the highest officials. This was no leak. This was a White House press release."

The rest of the article is here and well worth your time to read: Barack Obama: Drone Warrior - The Washington Post

Just following the example of another Democrat, good old Lyin' Lyndon of the Great Society days (daze?) when he selected targets up North for the Buff's to hit. Just an upgrade in technology!!!!!

Now, if he would just endorse another course of action set down by his precedent, "I will neither seek, nor will I accept ............

To me, the problem is not the activity (if it is indeed true), but the publicizing of the activity as a ploy to paint the man as a fighter. In the global arena he's probably the least respected American president we've ever seen. I agree it would be a great thing if he would follow Lyndon's example on a second term.

Thanks much for that link, Dave.

I'm going to send it to every "Obamite" I can think of so that they will have the opportunity to read and ponder Mr. Krauthammer's column.

WHICH, OF COURSE, THEY WILL NOT DO.

Jim - while I commend you for doing that, just remember that when you provide facts to most libtards/socialists, they either change the subject or have no clue as to what you are saying. Luckily, that's not 100% of the time, as there are some folks that are that way because of reasons - i.e. their jobs, spouses/partners or other.

I always listen to what Krauthammer says and it's always well thought out and agree with probably 99%
