You're on target, Steve. I won't hardly buy an IPA any more, as I cannot stand the over-abundance of hops. They had a History Channel show on featuring the guys at Dogfish Brewery in Delaware not too long ago. They really seem to have their act together, and go after some new and different brews using alternative ingredients. And Red Hook ESB (bitters) is an old standby for me - always safe to grab a six of that when something new doesn't strike my eye! One of my favorites, not so strong in ABV but extra good in flavor is TurboDog by Abita Brewery, which is in Abita Springs, LA about 30 miles south of New Orleans. Found TurboDog when I was doing a power plant in French Camp, MS staying in Starkville - ABITA BEERRoger

Thanks Roger I'll pick up a sixpack. We are also fortunate to have a new beer house in town called TAPS. They have over 30 brews on tap, and constantly change the menu, and serve new stuff. Unfortunately they tend to pick the high alcohol and hops brews, but they do have some nice toned down classics as well. They keep HopBrau House German lager as a staple and serve it in the traditional 1/2 litre glass mugs(for about 4.50-5.00 bucks) not too bad!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Dang - now I'm thirsty.
Only have a couple of Guinness, some Yuengling Black and Tan and my fall back local ale, Genessee in the fridge (tho I did stop at the local watering hole yesterday for one a pint of their Sam Adams (hot day = 93+).
The big beverage store I use has a lot of foreign beers, but few micro brews - and the crap that Magic Hat brews in Burlington, VT and sells under several names IMO, should stay there and used to flush toilets.Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Isn't it amazing that, within only one week of Tiger Woods crashing his Escalade,
the press found every woman with whom Tiger has had an affair during the last
few years?
And, they even uncovered photos, text messages, recorded phone calls, etc.!
Furthermore, they not only know the cause of the family fight, but they even know
it was a 9 iron from his golf bag that his wife used to break out the windows in the Escalade.
And, each & every day, they were able to continue to provide America with updates on Tiger's sex rehab stay, his wife's divorce settlement figures, as well as the dates and tournaments in which he will play.
Now, Barack Hussein Obama has been in office for three years, yet this very same press:
· Cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors;
· Or find any of Obama's high school or college classmates;
· Or locate any of his college papers or grades;
· Or determine how he paid for both a Columbia & a Harvard education;
· Or discover which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980's;
· Or even find Michelle Obama's Princeton thesis on racism.
They just can't seem to uncover any of this. Yet, the public still trusts that same press to give them the whole truth!
You cannot get the water to clear up until you get the pigs out of the creek.

Today's media is a joke!!! They're so dang busy expressing their (or their network's) OPINION and trying to convince all the rest of us that THEIR SIDE is right that reporting the facts of a story as a news item is completely gone!!!!!! Everything is reported in a biased manner and the whole program is an editorial. I guess we're all just too stupid to form our own opinions when presented with the facts and need the press to tell us how to think?????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

We need Huntley & Brinkley, Walter Cronkite, John Chancelor, Edward R Murrow, or just an honest, speak from the gut news man who's not trying to sell a story, but reporting truth. Not so hard, is it, to seek the truth, and then tell what you've found?Roger

How about something different?
The Top 10 Rules of Life
These may sound funny, but they're quite true (especially #8).
1. Never give yourself a haircut when drinking.
2. You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.
3. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
4. When you make a mistake, make amends immediately -- it's easier to eat crow while it's still warm.
5. The best advice that your mother ever gave you was, "Go! You might meet somebody!"
6. If they say you are too good for him/her, believe them.
7. Learn to pick your battles; ask yourself, "Will this matter one year from now? One month? One week? One day?"
8. Never pass up an opportunity to pee.
9. Living well really is the best revenge. Being miserable because of a bad or former relationship may mean the other person was right about you.
10. You can't demand something as a "right" unless you are willing to fight to death to defend everyone else's right to the same thing.

Those scams say a lot about the way things are;
1. First, try to get the government to give it to you!!!
2. If this doesn't work, then steal it from someone else!!!!
3. Only as a last resort, get a job, work hard, and buy it for yourself!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

If this really is from Bill Cosby, I think he sums it up nicely:
WHY ITS GOOD TO BE OLD
Cosby "I'm 83 and Tired"
"I'm 83 and I'm Tired"
I'm 83. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National
Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some serious
health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly
40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my
income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as
though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.
I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who
don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take
the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy
to earn it.
I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I
can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and
daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight
offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't
"believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning
teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the
genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and
Shari'a law tells them to.
I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let
Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques
and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia , New Zealand ,
UK, America and Canada , while no one from these countries are allowed to
fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other
Arab country to teach love and tolerance..
I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global
warming, which no one is allowed to debate.
I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help
support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ
rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses
or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?
I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all
parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful
mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting
caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and
actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination
or big-whatever for their problems.
I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and
early 20's be-deck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making
themselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government. And I'm sick and tired of seeing young kids walking down the streets looking like idiots with their underwear showing.
Yes, I'm tired. But I'm also glad to be 83.. Because, mostly, I'm not
going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for
my granddaughter and their children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not
on the way in." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Unfortunately - not from Bill Cosby. Been floating around for a while.
The most current version of this widely circulated piece of social commentary is attributed to much-loved American comedian Bill Cosby. The piece lays the blame for many of the world's social problems squarely on the shoulders of the lazy and shiftless along with people of Muslim faith.
Of course, whether or not you agree with the opinions expressed in the piece depends on your own world view. However, the piece was certainly not written by Bill Cosby. Cosby has denied writing the email and notes that he does not agree with the "ugly views" expressed therein. He also notes that he is not 76 as claimed in the message.
In fact, the article was written by retired Massachusetts state senator Robert A. Hall and published on his blog back in February 2009. Since then, the piece has circulated via the blogosphere, email and various social networking websites. An earlier variant of the piece was incorrectly attributed to CSI actor Robert Hall.
It is not the first time that Bill Cosby has been misidentified as the author of a viral political message. In 2010, a widely circulated message falsely claimed that Cosby was intending to run for President in the 2012 elections.
See: Bill Cosby - 'I'm 76 and I'm Tired'"Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty." John Basil Barnhil
