A little note... the corn for fuel is field corn same as cow food....NOT what people eat.. So what did they grow? Field corn is not being produced then fuel won't be available. Sweet corn then we don't have corn on the table... They are not telling the complete story. I'm not say there won't be a shortage but what is the shortage of??????? With the elections just months away you'll soon be hearing some Democrats running for political office, warning how the Republicans want to take away the old people's Social Security.
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this it's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican.
Facts are Facts:
Social Security Cards, issued in 1934, and up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and that card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.
When Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,
No longer Voluntary
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65% on the first $90,000
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program.
Under Johnson, another Democrat, the money was moved to The General Fund and Spent
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton & Gore, Democrats, Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away' for us -- you may be interested in the following:
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
AND MY FAVORITE:
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn't so.

What really upsets me is that I've been a active member of the work force with over 35 years of taxation of every paycheck I've ever earned, for Social Security and Medicare. Now as I move into my 50's I'm told, sorry your not going to get what we promised you all those years ago, from all of your withholding we borrowed from your check, because we didn't think you had enough common sense to take care of yourself when you retired, but we made a mistake, we actually won't be providing what we promised, I guess you may need to work until you die to provide for your retirement! BULLCRAP! I say! Either stop taxing me now for what your not going to give me, or cut government spending, cut government corruption, cut government reitrement programs, cut government health care, and give the people what they have paid their entire lives for! Enough is enough with the over spending! I don't think illegals should benefit from Medicare, they don't pay into the system! I don't think foreign nationals deserve social security. I don't think our hospitals and prisons need anymore illegal aliens to support. I'm Tired of the rhetoric from both sides. We are in a mess, and we don't need extra spending on people who don't pay into the system, that was initially created to protect the people who live here legally and paid a lifetime for, only to divert those very same funds to individuals who don't work, don't want to work, have no incentive to work, and or don't reside in this country legally!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

"cut government programs"
Just not "your" programs, right?
A MAJORITY of Americans are now receiving SOME form of government pay out. THAT means the MAJORITY of America has a vested interest in keeping the pork rolling.
That is exactly how the politicians like it..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Here is a little history regarding these leaches that are receiving our SS bennies. It started in Miami 1970, when the cubans hit the beaches, south Fl made all kind of noise about this problem... Want to take a guess as to who listened ......... try not one state WHY cause it was not in their backyards. Now the tide has flooded the rest of the US and suddenly it has become the problem all are talking about.
I could tell more about similar problems that were highly visible down there. That the US citizenship just ignored cause it was not in their backyards. Another example, English as the primary language. Where do you think that started, real-estate contracts started to be written in Spanish enough said.
When in Roam do as the Romans do. I for the life of me cannot understand why my country just rolls over for all the foreigners. We give up our traditions and get walked over with impunity by these people. As they demand our respect, I ask for what? If their damn country was so wonderful what in the hell are they doing here.
I have been 3/4 around the world and in every country I was in, if I needed something to live I had to learn, live and function as the local folks. I am all for the melting pot ideology with a hefty dose of assimilation. Leave your prayer rugs and foot baths in your homes, I do not need to walk around someone praying to ala in the middle of the office floor
When in America do as the Americans do.
RANT over !!!!I have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it

It has been asked more than once (but not necessarily in these words) how just ONE MAN can possibly be held responsible for the big mountain of disastrous messes in which our country finds itself.
(Well, I'll admit that "disastrous messes" isn't the precise term I used when I wrote that last paragraph. My lovely wife edited this and she substituted "disastrous messes" for the word I originally used.)
This is from The Honorable Kay Granger, representing the Tenth Congressional District of Texas. She isn't my congressperson but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if she were.
It covers just a few of the things "just one person" can do.

I lied.
Mrs. Granger does not represent the Tenth Congressional District. She represents the Twelfth.

That is really some scary stuff in her letter, Jim!!!!! Dang media follows all the campaign hype and doesn't even mention this???? The President, either this one or the next one, could take control of virtually everything with this order????? No idea what it takes to rescind an Executive Order, but I sure do hope somebody is working on it!!!!! I wouldn't want to see anyone in the White House have that much authority!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Hope you don't mind, Jim, but I thought I'd post here letter for those who don't want to take the time to click a link and read it.
Here's the letter;
Dear Friend,
With all that is going in Washington these days some things don’t make the news the way they should. Fourteen days ago President Obama issued an Executive Order that you should know about. This order gives an unprecedented level of authority to the President and the federal government to take over all the fundamental parts of our economy - in the name of national security - in times of national emergency.
This means all of our water resources, construction services and materials (steel, concrete, etc.), our civil transportation system, food and health resources, our energy supplies including oil and natural gas – even farm equipment – can be taken over by the President and his cabinet secretaries. The Government can also draft U.S. citizens into the military and force U.S. citizens to fulfill "labor requirements" for the purposes of "national defense." There is not even any Congressional oversight, only briefings are required.
By issuing this as an Executive Order the President puts the federal government above the law, which, in a democracy, is never supposed to happen.
As President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, he has the Constitutional authority to issue executive orders. And while similar orders have been made before by presidents from Eisenhower and Reagan to Clinton and George Bush – it has never been done to this extent.
It is still unclear why this order was signed now, and what the consequences are for our nation – especially during times of peace. This type of Martial Law imposes a government takeover on U.S. citizens that is typically reserved for national emergencies, not in a time of relative peace.
I want you to know I am following this very closely. If you would like to read the order for yourself please click here.
Sincerely,
Kay Granger
Member of Congress
Now, if this doesn't get people revved up about the government 'Nationalizing' private and public businesses, nothing will!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Heck no, Dave, I don't mind at all. It didn't occur to me that people might not bother to open the link. Thanks for posting it.
Was it by "executive order" that the president gave thousands of kids of illegal aliens an open door to citizenship one night recently? No vote? No discussion? No nothing? And just because it's "the right thing to do"?
I'm still mad because of the way "Obamacare" was shoved up our noses by only a simple majority and with not a single member of congress have read the bill.
I'm tempted to go out in the shop and drink beer until I fall out of the chair. I won't do that though because of the wear and tear on my health.
Also, I'd have to find myself a new wife and at my age that could be too tough to contemplate.
