Here is an idea that I have had bouncing around inside my noggin for a while...
What if people were drafted to serve in Congress?
and a quote from this site:
"If PRO is the opposite of Con, what is the opposite of PROgress?"...at least I'm enjoying the ride!

He whined and bitched about Bush and got elected, every year he still complains and whines about Bush, how long is enough? And let's review HIS promises!
1. Promised to close GITMO! - Lied..
2. Promised end the war - Lied, actually expanded it!
3. My biggest gripe - Ignores OUR LAWS to supply to Congress a budget each year. Hasn't produced one yet! Even though he's required to by law.. He should be impeached!
4. Claims to have "removed" Osama Bin Laden.. If they did kill him, I'd call it murder! Heck even the German High Command of WW2 were given a trial and they killed/murdered millions! While Bin Laden was hated by all, our laws and the laws of our international allys call this removal "murder"! But we're all willing to overlook it this time!
5. He complained/complains that Bush spent money like a drunken sailor and then he surpasses that spending total. Then he wants to take credit for the bailout, the great democrats now want to take credit for the money Bush appropriated! Can't get it both ways in my book!
And 3 days ago MSNBC News was reporting the DNC had created a company so that "big business" investors could donate to support the convention. All the companies like GE.. Name any big Bank!!! The list goes on but. The irony is that the democrats want to howl that their convention was paid for by the "little people".. indeed! Just another political scam.
Doesn't matter what the name, their all the same!! Oh yes, just my humble opinion!

I watched the president at the DNC, just " Hope And Change " 2012. I saw the same thing in 2008. he said he would do the same things 4 years ago, now gives himself an "incomplete" and expects us to believe him again. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

One correction Mike, the President has been submitting budgets, but even Congressional members of his own party vote against them........they are that scary. It's the Senate, or more specifically Harry Reid that hasn't/won't produce a budget and rely on "continuing resolutions" for funding.
Politicians, or at least the ones that value power over performance, live by polls. While the so called media report the headline results, the horserace stuff, it's the additional info refered to as "internal data" that gives a better understanding. Stuff like how many of the questioned are self professed Democrats, Repubs, "Independents" and the like. Also demographic data, views on certain subjects other than the stated purpose of the survey and more.
I've heard a lot of commentary about how "radical" the message from the Dems is this season, how they seem to be giving little nod to those precious "moderates". To me that means that their polling is telling them that they have a real enthusiasm gap with their hardcore supporters and are working hard to prop up support from them first (though with less than two months it's going to be a tough pivot to moderate their tone in short order). There are many reasons why their so called "base" voters are disillusioned, some already mentioned in the no Gitmo closure, protracted war, no jailing of corporate execs, and on and on. They know if they don't get their natural audience enthused, they stand no chance, so the hate and fear machine gets cranked up claiming "...no more abortions for women if Romney elected....", "....it will be the end of Medicare if Ryan elected...", and so forth. The regurgitation of the "hopey changey" nebulous stuff will still work on the simplistic, but not to the degree it did last time...............some (a few?) know that the man has his own record now..............even though he's running away from it with the continuing "blame Bush", "Bill Clinton was great, .....me too!!" stuff. Remember, folks on the left live by intentions, not actual outcomes. And when the actual outcomes don't fit their narrative, they try to lay off blame. If you've had kids you know the process............
The apologists for the Pres and his cohort will point out that the headline polling data show a neck to neck race............which is probably true. I suspect there's some Bradley Effect going on there. And perhaps some creative polling methods used to "push" certain results that may be desired depending on who's doing the polling. Still, if Romney wants to win, he needs to earn it, and with a hostile media that won't be easy. Low turnout will be what would helps the Pres get re-elected.........................which is why the "They're all the same........." stuff gets pushed.Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 09-08-2012 at 07:55 AM.

Paradoxical Quote of The Day From Ben Stein: "Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen." Now add this, "Many of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens."Charlie

We have to hope that this big flap over the Assassination of the US envoy and the storming of embassies in Egypt and Yemen will be over soon.
That way our elected top officials can get back to their main job which, of course, is apologizing to Libya, Egypt, and Yemen.

Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
