Just seen pix of that crane dangling from the tower..Dont wanna be around that..One of Lynda's cousins lives in NYC,,has a store there..Hope everyone up there is all okay..and can get through this okay..

Thankfully it's starting to move West from me. Still, just some strong breezes and some drizzle now

Dam' storm is going to take until Thursday to clear out. And the lights blinked once a couple minutes ago.

I talked to a friend about 2:00 this afternoon. He lives near me but owns some rental property on the New Jersey beach - didn't sound good

Do you still have electricity now Dave? News said there were already 3 million + without power!!!! Betcha your glad you have the generator ready and waiting! Hope things stay tolerable for you!!!!!

Just the one blink so far, but some of the hill towns nearby are powerless according to the news. National Grid (British!!) bought the power company a few years ago, 'retired' the high paid/experienced help and have done minimal maintenance so everything is old and in poor shape locally. I do expect that we will be in the dark eventually - as usual in ANY storm.

Luckily for us, this has - so far - proven to be a non event. I just took the pup out for her 'morning constitutional' about 7:30 and it felt like a spring day, warm, light breezes and blue sun lit skies. The weather map says we will be getting some showers later, but not anything like what was expected. Of course, that can change and we too can join the other 8 million folks without power or dumped on with a couple feet of soggy snow like W Va. Hopefully, no one gets more then wet today from this mess

Good hearing the storm hasn't torn things up in your area Dave!!!! From what is on the news, it sure looks ugly along the coast, hope it dies down by the time it gets your way!!

Something for you OF's to consider now. My wife sent this to the insurance broker she used while an HR manager to confirm. The age is 80, not 76 but the rest is 100% accurate. While some of you may not be close age wise you may have parents or other relatives who are - and if you or they are an Obama supporter, I suggest that you may want to reconsider the voting option. Especially enlightening - the last line

Well, President Obama didn't pass this law on his own.... A listing of those who voted "Aye" on the Bill would be a good thing to peruse prior to election day, too!!!! Probably wouldn't do a lot of good to switch presidents and leave all those in Congress who have also done their share to screw things up!!!!! Just voting Romney in as President certainly doesn't make it a slam dunk that this health care legislation can be rescinded...
